Dog sessions
Dappled-light dog portraits along Parkland Walk, London's longest local nature reserve.
For Crouch End
Outdoors we start with time to settle and sniff, then take calm, close portraits before moving on to action shots. Kaushik works at your pet's eye level and uses the shade of the trees to keep fur detailed and eyes bright.
Later, the online gallery is yours to browse, and choosing favourites comes with no sales push. Retouching is light, removing leads or distractions where needed. Files come ready for printing and sharing, and framed prints and canvases can be ordered.

We had a family photo session with grandparents, parents sons and our dog too. Mr Bathia is good humoured, he got the best out of all of us and took some great photos.
Very pleased with the quality of photographs. Kaushik is very patient and accommodating with requests, and full of enthusiasm and energy. His friendly demeanour immediately put us at ease, resulting in some wonderful family pictures. Would recommend him to family and friends.
I took my elderly parents to have photos path the grandchildren. The whole experience from photo shoot to choosing and picking up the photos was amazing. Kaushik was polite helpful and friendly and made all the kids and my elderly parents feel comfortable. They all enjoyed the experience and the photos were amazing. He even delivered them home on Christmas Eve!
What we offer
Dappled-light dog portraits along Parkland Walk, London's longest local nature reserve.
Autumn woodland sessions among the old trees of Queen's Wood.
Why choose us
Both sides of a dog get photographed, the calm dignified portrait and the happy blur of it at full speed. Squeaky toys, treats and plenty of patience come to every session, along with some very silly noises when the right look is needed.
There is no rush; your animal gets time to explore and settle before the camera comes out. For puppies and kittens, a session captures those fast-changing early weeks before they grow up.

Good to know
That is fine. Plenty of the best pet photographs are taken while the animal is moving. We follow your dog, use treats and noises to win a glance at the camera, and take action shots along Parkland Walk. A good walk before the session usually helps a lively dog settle.
Both. Outdoors, Crouch End has Parkland Walk, Priory Park and Queen's Wood, each with a different feel; remember the Philosopher's Garden in Priory Park does not admit dogs.
Soon after the session your pictures go into an online gallery, and you choose favourites whenever suits you, under no pressure. The chosen images are then retouched lightly and supplied ready for sharing and printing, with canvases and frames available if you would like them.
Very much so. A portrait of an older pet is often the most valued picture an owner has. We keep the session short and gentle, with plenty of rest, and choose easy settings such as a flat lawn in Priory Park. Grey muzzles and soft eyes photograph beautifully.
Yes, and it is worth doing. You can be in as many or as few frames as you like, and the posing is guided so you never feel awkward.
Serving Crouch End
Crouch End, a creative, bohemian Haringey neighbourhood around the Broadway and clock tower, has green spaces such as Priory Park and Parkland Walk within reach for a pet shoot. It sits close to Hornsey and Highgate, which we cover too.
Crouch End, a village-like part of Haringey known for artists, writers and musicians and the independent shops around the Broadway, is a characterful place for an on-location pet session close to home. Crouch End is among London's larger districts with no Underground station, which makes a session near home simpler for pets and owners. For owners using public transport, Crouch Hill on the Overground's Suffragette line is the closest station, and Finsbury Park is a short walk further. Sessions on location near Crouch End can use Priory Park and the tree-lined Parkland Walk nature trail, with the Crouch End Clock Tower (1895) and the art-deco Hornsey Town Hall close at hand.
More in Crouch End
Alongside pet portraits, Crouch End households can book family, headshot, portrait and business photography from us. Explore the rest: we also cover pet photography across Greater London, including Kentish Town, Perivale, Hampstead, Belsize Park, Northfields and Greenford.
Crouch End has several green spaces that suit a pet session, each with its own character. Parkland Walk, London's longest local nature reserve, follows the old railway line past the area and offers a long, tree-shaded path with wildflower banks, perfect for a dog trotting towards the camera or sitting in dappled light. Priory Park on Middle Lane is more open, with lawns and a historic granite fountain, but bear in mind that its Philosopher's Garden does not admit dogs, so the session stays in the main park. Queen's Wood, north-west of Crouch End, is ancient woodland where fallen leaves and old trees give an autumnal, wild feel even in a city. For dogs, a low camera angle is everything: kneeling or lying down to the animal's eye level makes the portrait intimate rather than looking down on a pet from above. The canopy of Parkland Walk keeps harsh sun off dark coats, which helps detail show in black or brown fur. Bring favourite treats, a toy that squeaks, water and a towel. Sessions run at the animal's pace in both settings, and owners are welcome to join the pictures or simply stay close with the treats.

How it works
We travel to Crouch End from Northwood (about 12 miles) rather than asking you to travel to us. Pet sessions are photographed on location, with lighting brought in as needed.
Kaushik Bathia, established in Northwood since 2001, photographs each pet himself; his letters are FBIPP and FMPA and he holds five European Kodak Gold Awards.
Popular sessions
Pets are welcome at a Christmas family photoshoot too, and the whole family can be photographed together in a family session.
