For Hornsey
Kaushik works low and patiently, letting your pet explore before the camera comes up. Treats, toys and a familiar voice do most of the work, and owners can step into the frame or stay just out of shot, whichever you prefer.
You then view an online gallery and pick the pictures you love most. Those are retouched gently, keeping the true colour of the coat and eyes, and are delivered as files or turned into prints, frames and canvases.

We had a large family photoshoot to do which can always be tricky. Kaushik was absolutely fantastic with a myriad of toys and noises to get smiles out of the little ones (they are still talking about the mouse on a stick!). Kaushik took the various different combinations we wanted and positioned each one expertly.
I was nervous about how my 2 year old would react, but we had a great photo session! Kaushik had plenty of props to keep my son entertained, laughing, and happily posing.Afterward, he was incredibly patient as we went through every single photo to pick our favorites, even though we kept changing our minds. I highly recommend his service and will definitely be back once my second baby is born!
Beautiful family photos, everyone was made to feel comfortable and relaxed so we got lovely photos with everyone smiling and happy. Photographs are beautiful. Thank you!

Good to know
Very much so. Pictures of an older companion often become the ones owners treasure most. Grey muzzles and tired eyes have real character, and retouching never hides who your pet is.
Yes. Pick your favourite pet pictures from the online gallery, then order them as prints, framed pieces, canvases or an album. A close portrait suits a canvas, while a set of smaller frames works well for a sequence of action shots. Digital files arrive web-ready and print-ready as well.
Not at all. Energy makes for great running and play pictures. A long walk before the session helps, and the open lawns of Priory Park or the straight path of the Parkland Walk give room for movement. Bring the treats and toy your dog finds most exciting, and the calmer portraits can be taken once the first burst has passed.
Both are available. Outdoors suits active animals that love exploring, with Priory Park, Stationers Park and the Parkland Walk all close to Hornsey; just remember the Philosopher's Garden in Priory Park is dog-free.
Serving Hornsey
It sits close to Haringey and Crouch End, which we cover too.
In a residential N8 neighbourhood like Hornsey, a pet session at home lets a nervous animal settle in its own surroundings. Hornsey station, on the Great Northern line to Finsbury Park, Moorgate and King's Cross, is useful for owners, but pets usually stay at home and the session comes to them. Outdoor pet photographs could use the trees and paths of Priory Park or the open slopes of Alexandra Park.

Guides
Pet owners in Hornsey may find these journal pieces useful when preparing an animal for its session.
Priory Park is the obvious starting point for a pet session in Hornsey, with one detail worth knowing before you go: its Philosopher's Garden is dog-free, so plan the photographs on the open lawns and paths instead. The Parkland Walk is a different proposition, a long green corridor along the old railway between Finsbury Park and Alexandra Palace, where the hedges and banks make a soft wall of colour behind an animal at ground level. Stationers Park on Mayfield Road gives a smaller, calmer setting for a nervous animal that does not enjoy crowds. Outdoors, the photographer gets down to your pet's eye height, which means the background is mostly grass and foliage rather than sky, so a slightly overcast day suits most coats. Bring the treats your pet works hardest for, a favourite squeaky toy and a towel if the ground is wet. A long walk beforehand takes the edge off a lively young animal; an elderly one needs the opposite, a short session with plenty of rest. Sessions can include the owners or focus on the animal alone, and they always run at the pet's pace, never the clock's.
How it works
We are based in Northwood, about 13 miles from Hornsey, so a pet session there would normally be outdoors or at your home. Pet sessions are photographed on location, with lighting brought in as needed.
Kaushik Bathia (FBIPP, FMPA) photographs every animal himself; he set up shop in Northwood in 2001 and counts five European Kodak Gold Awards among his honours.
Popular sessions
Pets are welcome at a Christmas family photoshoot too, and the whole family can be photographed together in a family session.
