  • What the session includes: Time for your pet to settle before the session starts, treats and familiar toys to catch the right expression, and a finished set of characterful portraits; prints and canvases are available afterwards.
  • Where we photograph in Belsize Park: Your home or garden, or a walk at Primrose Hill or Hampstead Heath. We travel from Northwood, about 11 miles away. The Northwood studio is there too, if you ever prefer it.
  • Booking: Call 07956 505383, send a WhatsApp message to the same number, or use the enquiry form on this page.

The animal sets the pace. Time to explore comes before the camera is raised, treats and sounds catch attention for an instant, and breaks come as soon as interest drops. Senior pets are given more rests and a comfortable place to lie.

Afterwards you pick out favourites from the online gallery at your own pace. Retouching is light, fur colour is kept accurate, and finished images are web-ready and print-ready, with prints, canvases, frames and albums available to order. A good pair is one close portrait and one wider frame showing the setting.

In one word "AWESOME" We arranged a family photo shoot for six, four children and two adults.. the whole family was made to feel very comfortable (even allowing a change of clothes from smart to casual) and the children although apprehensive at first (being children) were literally in hysterics by the time we left... would definitely HIGHLY RECOMMEND and use again when everyones a little older...

Fantastic photographer . Relaxed atmosphere and even made my young children laugh and look at the camera ( which they normally don’t do ) . Amazing results ! Would highly recommend.

Google review, 2023

I love his services, he was very very patient even though we got there late he still took his time capturing a very good family pictures. He also gave us time to satisfy our 6months old one in order to capture her great smile despite the fact that it was passed his closing hours. I would definitely recommend him as you won't be disappointed, you will love him.

Good to know

Pet Photographer in Belsize Park, FAQs

Yes. Owners can join as many frames as they like, and pictures of a person and animal together are often the ones families value most. Wear plain, darker colours if your pet is light, or lighter colours if it is dark, so the two of you stand apart in the frame. Those photographs are taken early, before the animal tires.

That is normal, and the photographs do not depend on it. Lively dogs are photographed in motion, running towards the camera or mid-play, and a quick shutter freezes the moment. On Primrose Hill, the slope gives a dog a natural path to run down. Breaks are taken as needed, and treats help when a still frame is wanted.

Yes. Dark coats need soft, directional light so the texture of the fur shows rather than turning into a flat black shape. A catchlight in the eyes is what brings a dark animal's face to life.

Long enough for your pet to relax and show its character, and no longer. Some animals are finished after a short spell; others need time to settle and several rests.

Very much so. Older pets often photograph beautifully, with greying muzzles and calm expressions that a younger animal never has. The session is kept gentle, with plenty of rests, short spells of attention and no pressure to perform.

Its wide streets of Victorian villas and mansion blocks lead towards Primrose Hill, where the Royal Parks ask for a permit for lifestyle photography. Explore the rest: we also cover pet photography across Greater London, including Muswell Hill, Hillingdon, Cockfosters, Hayes, Wood Green and Belmont.

Pet owners in Belsize Park have green space on both sides. Primrose Hill, a five-minute walk from England's Lane, gives a grassy slope with a famous view over London, and Hampstead Heath, just to the north, gives 320 hectares of ancient heath. Both come with rules: the Royal Parks require a permit for lifestyle photography on Primrose Hill and a separate licence for anyone walking dogs commercially, and the Heath needs a City of London photography permit. A dog session on the hill is therefore planned tightly, with the main frames chosen beforehand. Soft, overcast days are kind to dark coats, which lose detail in harsh sun, while pale or white dogs keep their texture better with the sun behind a cloud. Back in Belsize Village, the quieter mews streets can give a city-dog look with painted doors and period brick, if your dog is calm around passers-by. Owners can appear in the photographs or stay out of them. The session runs at the animal's pace, so bring treats, a toy and plenty of patience.
