For East Finchley

Photographing pets in East Finchley

  • Included in the session: Time for your pet to settle before the session starts, treats and familiar toys to catch the right expression, and a finished set of characterful portraits; prints and canvases are available afterwards.
  • Where we photograph in East Finchley: Your home or garden, or a walk at Cherry Tree Wood, Coldfall Wood or Highgate Wood. We travel from Northwood, about 11 miles away. The Northwood studio is there too, if you ever prefer it.
  • How to book: Ring or WhatsApp 07956 505383, or leave your details in the form below.

Everything happens at the animal's pace. Your pet gets time to sniff around and settle, attention is caught with treats or a sound for the split second that matters, and breaks come whenever interest drops. You can be in some photographs or none.

Afterwards an online gallery lets you take your time picking favourite pet frames. Images are retouched lightly so the animal still looks like itself, delivered web-ready and print-ready, and can be turned into prints, framed pieces, canvases or an album.

We had a great experience with our family photoshoot. The photographer made everyone feel relaxed and comfortable, which really shows in the final photos. The images are natural, well-captured, and beautifully edited. We’re all really happy with the results and would highly recommend.

Fantastic service, Kaushik captured some amazing shots of our family. He is patient, professional, friendly and creative which really helps when trying to get pictures with young children. You never feel rushed and the final product will be something we cherish for years to come. This was our second time with Kaushik and we will be going back again. We have no hesitation in recommending him. Thank you Kaushik!

Dogs outdoors

Woodland sessions in Cherry Tree Wood, Coldfall Wood or Highgate Wood for dogs who love a walk.

Local and experienced

Reassuringly patient with pets in East Finchley

Dogs do well in brief, playful spells, so we reward calm and catch their character in the gaps between games. A quick chat beforehand about favourite games, treats and quirks lets us build the session around your pet.

More than one animal is welcome, photographed together or one by one. Pack a favourite toy and some treats; extras are kept on hand at our end too.

Pet Photographer in East Finchley, FAQs

Yes. Several pets can be photographed in one session, first individually and then together. Group frames take patience, so they are attempted once the animals are settled, often with an owner helping to hold attention. Outdoors in Cherry Tree Wood or Highgate Wood, a pair of dogs can be photographed walking together when posed frames are not working.

Yes. Owners and children can join as many or as few of the photographs as they like. Family frames with a pet are taken early, while the animal is still interested, and then the pet is photographed alone. In woodland near East Finchley, the session runs at the animal's pace throughout.

Yes, both. Bring the treats your pet works hardest for, in small pieces, and one or two toys, ideally one that squeaks, to catch attention at the moment of the photograph. Check with your vet if your pet has dietary needs.

Yes. Young animals have very short attention spans, so the session is kept short and playful, with plenty of rests.

A walk beforehand takes the edge off a lively dog's energy, and a brush the day before keeps the coat tidy. Avoid a full meal just before the session so treats still motivate.

Serving East Finchley

A pet photographer near East Finchley

Pet owners here live in a leafy residential district of Barnet, known for the Phoenix Cinema and the Northern line station, with Cherry Tree Wood opposite the tube. It sits close to Highgate and Golders Green, which we cover too.

East Finchley grew around its tube station and keeps an independent flavour, with the charity-run Phoenix Cinema still showing films on the High Road. Cherry Tree Wood, across from the station, mixes woodland and grassland for an outdoor pet session, close to the cafes and delis of the High Road. Coming by tube, owners alight at East Finchley on the High Barnet line, and Highgate Wood in neighbouring Haringey is another woodland choice. For on-location sessions we can head to spots such as Cherry Tree Wood, close to the well-known the Phoenix Cinema.

East Finchley owners have three woodlands within easy reach for an outdoor pet session. Cherry Tree Wood, across the High Road from the station, is compact, with woodland and grassland side by side, and is easy to reach on foot. Coldfall Wood, about 14 hectares of ancient woodland and a local nature reserve, has the darker, enclosed feel that makes a pale coat glow. Highgate Wood, 70 acres on Muswell Hill Road, offers wider paths and more room to keep a distance from other walkers. Stephens House and Gardens, close by in Finchley, has a specific rule worth knowing: dogs must be kept on a fixed lead of up to two metres on the paths around the lower green and on the terrace, and are not allowed in the playground, while the estate trust asks for permission before any non-private photography there. Your animal decides the pace, and you can appear in the pictures or stay out of them. Bring high-value treats, a toy that squeaks, a towel for muddy paws in winter and a spare lead. A dark coat photographs well in the soft shade of the trees; strong midday sun tends to flatten it.
