Serving Swansea
Swansea is a coastal Welsh city with seafront venues. We are used to multi-venue days throughout South Wales, moving smoothly between Sketty, Morriston and Mumbles. From Swansea we cover weddings right across South Wales, at gurdwaras, hotels, marquees and banqueting suites.
We photograph with warmth and respect, mindful of the meaning behind each shabad the ragis sing. We balance documentary coverage with a few quiet portraits, so your album holds both the reverence of the darbar sahib and the energy of the bhangra. We are calm and unhurried, gathering the whole story of the Anand Karaj without ever getting in the way.
Swansea is a coastal Welsh city with seafront venues, and we love photographing Sikh weddings here and across Wales. We regularly cover nearby Cardiff and Newport as well. Around Swansea we regularly photograph at Brangwyn Hall, National Waterfront Museum and Oxwich Bay Hotel, among others.
Swansea is a coastal Welsh city on Swansea Bay, home of the world's first passenger railway service, the Mumbles Train. Swansea railway station serves the city centre, about five miles from Mumbles on the bay. When there is time for couple portraits, Singleton Park, the largest urban park in Swansea, with a botanical garden is a favourite, and Mumbles Pier, built in 1898, one of Swansea's most famous seafront landmarks makes a memorable setting.

What we offer
From the morning kirtan in the gurdwara to the last bhangra of the reception, told as one story.
Fine prints and framed art of the four laavan and the doli to bring home.
A handful of timeless portraits taken away from the darbar sahib, amid the celebration.
Every tradition
We are ready for the palla, when the bride's father places the sash in the couple's hands before the laavan. At the heart of a Sikh wedding is the Anand Karaj, the blissful union performed before the Guru Granth Sahib. The exchange of garlands and the joy of the sangat around the couple are moments we love to photograph.
We capture the lively milni as the two families meet, with the garlands, the dhol and the embraces. We photograph the chunni ceremony and the giving of the choora, and the emotion that comes with them. We document the sagai and the engagement that begin the journey, when families ask us.

The whole celebration
Many Sikh weddings begin days before with the maiyan, the mehndi and a jaggo night. The days before the wedding often hold the most relaxed, candid moments of the whole celebration.
We always recommend a little time for couple portraits, often after the ceremony, away from the bustle. Because gurdwaras often require an early finish, the Anand Karaj usually falls in the morning, and we plan for it.
Why choose us
Couples choose us for our calm presence and our knowledge of every ritual, from the milni to the four laavan. With twenty-five years and over a thousand weddings behind us, nothing about an Anand Karaj surprises us.
From our London base, Swansea and the gurdwaras of South Wales are an easy, familiar journey. From London we reach Swansea easily, and we know the darbar sahib and langar halls of South Wales well.

Where we travel
Wherever your jaggo and your Anand Karaj take place across Wales, we will be there in good time for the morning kirtan. We are London-based but rarely in London; much of our work takes us to the gurdwaras and jaggo nights of Wales.

Good to know
Of course. We regularly photograph fusion and mixed-faith weddings, blending the Anand Karaj and Sikh customs with another family's traditions with care and respect.
Sikh wedding dates and popular gurdwaras book up well ahead, so we recommend enquiring as early as you can. Tell us your wedding date and we will confirm availability straight away.
Very much so. We know the ceremony by heart, from the milni and the kirtan to the ardaas and the four laavan, and we position ourselves so each laav is captured calmly and respectfully.
Yes. A pre-wedding shoot is a lovely way to relax in front of the camera before the big day, and we are happy to arrange one at a location you love.
Yes. We stay through the evening to capture the speeches, the first dance, the bhangra and the giddha, right to the last guest on the floor.
