Whatever your ceremony looks like

Opposite demands come from a church and from a licensed room. Stone buildings give you height, depth and coloured light through glass, but tend to fix us in one position and rule out movement during the vows, so frames there are decided beforehand and then simply taken. A hired room hands back the freedom to move and removes the light, leaving tungsten, a projector screen and a fire door. Neither is worse. Knowing which you have, a fortnight beforehand, is what counts, because the plan differs completely.

After that the day is mostly people. Everybody files past you once during a receiving line, so it doubles as a portrait queue if you let it. Speeches are photographed by watching listeners instead of the speaker, since the reaction carries the picture. A first dance is a dark room holding two moving subjects, and one small light placed behind them beats any amount of sensitivity.

With a written list, ordered so that people can leave once they are finished, and one loud relative recruited to fetch the next group. Handled that way it takes twenty minutes. Handled by shouting names across a lawn it takes an hour.

How do you edit and retouch photos for Chester weddings?+

Colour, exposure and contrast on every frame, by hand, so a set holds together from morning through to midnight. Past that we stay light: blemishes and stray cables go, faces are left alone. Heavier work on particular images if you ask.

Do you provide a written contract?+

Yes, always, and it is signed before anything is paid. The document covers hours, deliverables, cancellation on either side, and ownership of the pictures. Anything that reads oddly can be rewritten in plainer words; ask, and it will be.

What happens if the day runs late and we need you to stay longer?+

Ask on the night. Additional hours get agreed there and then, since leaving you without a record of how the evening ended helps nobody. Slipping out at the hour printed on a schedule is not our habit.
