We document each event as it happens, from the mehndi to the walima, so your gallery feels true to the day you lived. We take time beforehand to understand your customs, from the agreeing of the mahr to the order of the walima.

Chester is a historic Roman walled city on the River Dee, known for its distinctive medieval Rows galleries. Chester railway station is a junction with services to Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales, with the A55 and M53 close by. We often take couples to Grosvenor Park, a Victorian park close to the city centre and the River Dee for a few quiet portraits, and The Eastgate Clock above the city walls is a lovely backdrop nearby.

From mehndi to walima

The dua at the close of the nikah brings the families together, and we capture it with warmth. The ijab-e-qubool, the proposal and acceptance said three times, seals the marriage, and we capture it with care. The rukhsati, when the bride leaves with the groom, is the most tender moment, and we photograph it gently.

For many families the mehndi is the ladies' celebration, and a female photographer can cover it with ease. We capture the lively baraat as the groom arrives, with the family and the celebration around him. The mehndi night is full of colour, music and dancing, and often holds the warmest moments of all.
