The short answer
Kaushik Bathia is an award winning wedding photographer based in London, photographing weddings in Dartford and throughout Kent for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. We give couples space to enjoy their own wedding, gathering the images around you rather than pulling you out of the moment for the sake of a shot. Whatever your wedding looks like in Dartford, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. From engagement shoots through to the finished album, we guide you through each stage with the ease that comes from having done this for well over two decades. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Kent and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Dartford
Dartford is a Kent town on the London border. Marquees in a garden, halls in the city and barns out in the fields all feature in our year, and we cover them throughout Kent, with Bexley, Greenhithe and Swanley firmly on the map. Our approach to the ceremony is simple: watch closely, stay out of the way and record the promises exactly as you make them.
Rather than lining people up, we let groups form on their own and photograph them as they laugh and talk, keeping the whole thing loose and relaxed. We blend honest reportage with a short set of relaxed, guided portraits, so you keep both the candid frames and a handful of timeless ones you will treasure. Our approach is calm and observant; we anticipate the moments a beat before they happen, which is how the honest ones end up beautifully framed.
Couples marrying in Dartford find us close to hand and easy to reach. Dartford is a Kent town on the London border, and we photograph weddings here and in nearby Maidstone and Sevenoaks alike. Local wedding venues we know near Dartford include Rowhill Grange and Hall Place.
Dartford is a Kent town on the London border with a historic market and strong commuter links. Home to the Dartford Crossing on the M25, with Southeastern rail services from Dartford station. When there is time for couple portraits, Central Park, a Green Flag park beside the River Darent is a favourite, and The Dartford Crossing, including the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge makes a memorable setting.

What we offer
We stay from the morning preparations through to the evening, so the whole story is there in one set.
We photograph weddings across the country, so wherever you are marrying we can be there with no surprise cost.
We work quietly and calmly in the background, guiding when needed but never taking over your day.
Every kind of wedding
We understand that every ceremony has its own rhythm, so we read the room, keep our movement minimal and photograph the vows as they truly happen. Whatever words you speak and whoever leads them, we photograph the ceremony as a story, from the anticipation before it to the relief and joy after. We understand how quickly a ceremony passes, so we prepare thoroughly beforehand and then let the day carry us, catching the vows as they land.
The drinks reception is where the day loosens and the real laughter starts, so we move through the crowd and photograph the reunions and quiet chats as they happen. A pre-wedding or engagement session beforehand lets us get to know you, so that by the wedding day the camera already feels like part of the furniture. From getting ready in the morning to the final send off, we document the whole day as it flows, so nothing between the big moments is lost.

The whole celebration
The hour before you leave for the ceremony tends to hold the details worth keeping, the dress on its hanger, the shoes, the notes passed between rooms. Morning prep has its own rhythm, and we work quietly through it, letting the anticipation build in the pictures rather than staging it.
We shape the coverage so the mood shifts gradually, from the still morning through the ceremony and into the noise and warmth of the evening. We keep an eye on the running order without letting it run us, which leaves room for the unplanned things that make the best pictures.
Why choose us
After twenty-five years we have learned that reassurance matters as much as skill, so we keep communication clear and easy from your first enquiry onwards. Having covered a thousand celebrations, we know where to stand for the confetti, the first dance and the speeches, so the key moments are never missed.
It is no trouble at all for us to head out to Bexley, Greenhithe and Swanley and the wider Kent, and we often do exactly that across the wedding season. Ceremony in one town and reception in another is a pattern we handle smoothly, planning the gap so the pictures never stop, whether that is within Bexley, Greenhithe and Swanley or across Kent.

Where we travel
Travel is simply part of the job for us, and a venue tucked away in Kent is one we will reach comfortably with time to spare. Distance is rarely an issue for us; we regularly drive out to Kent and further, arriving early so nothing feels rushed.

Good to know
We offer engagement shoots and many couples find them a lovely warm-up before the wedding. It is a relaxed hour or two that lets us get to know one another, so you feel at ease in front of the camera on the day. The images are yours to use for save-the-dates or simply to enjoy.
Our aim is a timeless, natural finish that will still feel right in twenty years, so we avoid trend-led filters and extreme colour grades. Skin tones stay true and whites stay clean. You get a consistent look across the whole gallery rather than images that jump between styles.
Once you are happy to go ahead, we hold your date with a signed agreement and a booking fee. Until both are in place we cannot promise the date will still be free, as we take a limited number of weddings each year. We would always encourage you to get in touch early to avoid disappointment.
Rain is no reason to worry, and some of our favourite images come from wet days. We scout indoor backdrops and covered spots in advance, keep a few clear umbrellas ready and adapt the timing so portraits happen during any dry window. British weather rarely ruins a day, and it often adds atmosphere.
Yes, a second photographer is available and many couples add one. Having two of us means we can be with each of you during preparations, cover the ceremony from more than one angle and gather natural guest reactions. For larger or multi-day weddings a second shooter makes a real difference to how complete your gallery feels.
Yes, and we have dedicated coverage for Asian and multicultural weddings, with experience across Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and mixed-tradition celebrations. These days often run across several events, so please ask about our specialist pages and multi-day options. We will make sure the customs and people that matter to both families are photographed with real understanding.
We think it does. After more than twenty-five years and over a thousand weddings, we read a room quickly, sense moments before they happen, and stay calm when the timings wander. That quiet experience means you can relax and be present, knowing the day is in safe and steady hands.
