The palla matters more than the faces in a still image, because the cloth is what shows the joining, so it gets its own frames. Milni happens outdoors and is the brightest, loosest part of the morning. Langar is service rather than spectacle: hands, queues, nobody posed with a plate. The doli brings the poorest light anywhere in the day and its most honest minute.

Yes, and it repays an early start. Milni runs outdoors, quickly, and carries the most unguarded expressions of the whole day. We frame it broadly enough for both families and tightly enough for the embraces.
