The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed weddings across Gloucestershire for over twenty five years, and couples in Gloucester choose him for calm, natural coverage backed by more than a thousand weddings and five European Gold awards. We work quietly in the background, following the day as it unfolds rather than staging it, so your photographs feel real and never posed for the sake of it. We cover every kind of wedding in Gloucester, from church, civil and register office ceremonies to country houses, barns, marquees, hotels and garden venues, as well as multicultural and fusion celebrations. After a quarter of a century of weddings, we stay calm when timings change, which they often do, and we adjust without any fuss reaching you or your guests. You can add an engagement shoot, a second photographer and hand finished albums, and we are glad to travel across Gloucestershire and beyond, so wherever your day is held it is well within reach.
Serving Gloucester
Gloucester is a cathedral city with a diverse community. A register office ceremony followed by a marquee party, or a church service and a country-house dinner, are both days we photograph often around Cheltenham, Quedgeley and Hucclecote and across Gloucestershire. During the ceremony we work quietly with longer lenses, so whether you exchange vows in a church, a register office or a garden, we stay unobtrusive and miss nothing.
Rather than directing every scene, we let your day breathe and photograph it as it happens, stepping in gently only when a group shot needs a little order. Throughout the day we stay unobtrusive and adaptable, adjusting quietly to changes of plan so the coverage never feels stiff or interrupted. We blend honest reportage with a short set of relaxed, guided portraits, so you keep both the candid frames and a handful of timeless ones you will treasure.
Over the years we have grown to know Gloucester and its venues. Gloucester is a cathedral city with a diverse community, and we photograph weddings across the surrounding towns too, from Cheltenham through to Rugby. Close to Gloucester, we have worked at venues including Hatton Court and Over Barn.
Gloucester is a cathedral city on the River Severn with a historic regenerated docks quarter and a diverse community. Gloucester railway station sits near the city centre, with the M5 running just to the east of the city. When there is time for couple portraits, Gloucester Park near the city centre, or the historic Gloucester Docks waterside is a favourite, and Gloucester Cathedral, whose cloisters featured in the Harry Potter films makes a memorable setting.

What we offer
Church, civil, humanist or multi-day celebrations, we photograph the customs that matter to your two families.
For weddings that run across two or three days, we build coverage around each event so nothing is left out.
A second photographer covers the other side of the day, from the groom getting ready to guest reactions you would otherwise miss.
Every kind of wedding
The look you give each other as the words are spoken is often the picture you keep longest, and we are ready for it however your ceremony is arranged. The moment you are declared married deserves to be seen clearly, so we plan our angles in advance and hold steady when it arrives. From the first steps down the aisle to the final walk back as a married couple, we follow your ceremony closely and let it breathe without any staging.
We photograph the arrivals, the confetti and the drinks that follow, giving the reception the same care we bring to the ceremony itself. Speeches bring the biggest reactions of the day, and we position ourselves to catch both the speaker and the faces around the room as the words land. Portraits with your family and closest friends matter, and we make time for them without letting the schedule stall or the day lose its momentum.

The whole celebration
We tend to arrive while the flowers are still being set out, so the first frames show the day before anyone has touched it. We often start with the morning preparations, when the room is calm and the day still feels private, and photograph the small details before the pace picks up.
The finished set should feel like the day itself, unhurried in the morning, warm over the meal and loose by the evening. Steady coverage from start to finish means you can look back and follow the day exactly as it happened, from the first arrival to the fond goodnights.
Why choose us
Experience means we anticipate what is coming next, so we are ready for the tears during the vows and the laughter in the room before either arrives. Our long track record means references are easy to come by and albums easy to show, so you can see exactly the standard your day will be photographed to.
It is no trouble at all for us to head out to Cheltenham, Quedgeley and Hucclecote and the wider Gloucestershire, and we often do exactly that across the wedding season. From our London base we travel across Gloucestershire and beyond, and multi-venue days are never a problem; we plan the route and timings in advance.

Where we travel
A second photographer can join us when travel or a split-venue day calls for it, so coverage across Cheltenham, Quedgeley and Hucclecote and Gloucestershire stays seamless. Rural lanes, tricky parking and out-of-the-way estates hold no fear for us; we have driven to weddings in every part of Gloucestershire.

Good to know
We carry professional backup cameras, lenses and lighting to every wedding, and we photograph to dual memory cards so images are written twice as we go. We also hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, which many venues ask to see. Nothing on a wedding day can be re-run, so this cover is not optional for us.
We would love that. Meeting in person, or over a video call if that is easier, helps you get a feel for how we work and lets us hear all about your plans. There is no pressure at all; it is simply a friendly conversation so you can decide with real confidence.
Yes, as much as you need. For portraits we offer simple, friendly prompts about where to stand and what to do with your hands, so you never feel stranded in front of the lens. The rest of the day needs almost nothing from you, because we work quietly around the celebration as it unfolds.
Yes. Every couple receives their full set of edited high-resolution images through a private online gallery, with the freedom to print them for your own use. You can download them, order prints, and share the link with loved ones who could not be there. Your photographs are yours to enjoy for many years to come.
We are happy to travel further afield for a destination wedding and have photographed couples in some beautiful settings. We will talk through travel, accommodation, and timings with you, so everything is clear and settled well before you fly. Photographing weddings away from home is one of the real joys of what we do.
We offer professional prints, framed pieces and wall art produced by trusted UK labs, so the colour and quality match how the images look on screen. You can also print your own from the high-resolution files. If you want help choosing which frames suit a wall, we are happy to advise.
You will usually see a small preview within a week or so, and your full online gallery follows a few weeks after the wedding, depending on the time of year. Every image is edited by hand, which takes a little time, but we know you are eager to relive the day and we never leave you waiting unduly.
