The short answer
An award winning, London based wedding photographer, Kaushik Bathia has spent more than twenty five years photographing weddings in Oxford and right across Oxfordshire. Small, telling details matter to us as much as the big set pieces, so we photograph the handwritten notes, the borrowed jewellery and the quiet glances between courses. Church, civil, country house, barn, marquee or hotel, and every faith, culture and fusion celebration, we are equally at home photographing them all in Oxford. Twenty-five years in means we understand how a wedding day flows, so we can guide you through the parts we handle without ever taking over your day. A second photographer, relaxed engagement shoots and hand finished fine art albums are all available, and we travel across Oxfordshire and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.
Serving Oxford
Oxford is a historic university city with grand colleges and venues. There is real variety in where our couples marry, from register offices to grand houses and hotel ballrooms, and we photograph every one of them across Abingdon, Kidlington and Bicester and the wider Oxfordshire. We time our movements to yours, staying still through the readings and the promises, then finding the right spot for the first kiss as a married couple.
From the first cup of morning tea to the last dance, we document the whole arc of your day, letting one moment lead naturally into the next. We plan the timings with you beforehand, then let the day breathe on its own, photographing what unfolds rather than steering it toward a set list of shots. The whole day is covered as it comes, without rehearsed poses or long setups, so you are free to be present with your guests while we quietly work.
Couples marrying in Oxford find us close to hand and easy to reach. Oxford is a historic university city with grand colleges and venues, and we photograph weddings here and in nearby Banbury and Bicester alike. Venues we have photographed at near Oxford include The Bodleian Library, Rhodes House and The Kassam Stadium.
Oxford is a historic university city, home to the University of Oxford and its many colleges, with a strong student and academic community. Oxford railway station is served by Great Western Railway and Chiltern Railways, and the city sits close to the M40 and the A34. For portraits away from the celebration, Christ Church Meadow, the riverside meadow between the colleges and the Thames works beautifully, and The Radcliffe Camera and the Bodleian Library in the heart of the university quarter adds a real sense of place.

What we offer
A relaxed shoot before the wedding lets us get to know each other and helps you feel at ease on the day.
A relaxed pre-wedding shoot lets us get to know each other and helps you feel at ease in front of the camera.
You receive full-resolution photographs with no watermarks, ready for printing at any size you like.
Every kind of wedding
The exchange of rings, the signing of the register and the walk back up the aisle all matter to us, and we cover each without asking you to pause. From the first steps down the aisle to the final walk back as a married couple, we follow your ceremony closely and let it breathe without any staging. Ceremonies rarely run to the second, so we stay alert throughout, ready for the moments that arrive early, run long or happen when least expected.
From the first toast to the last song, we stay attentive through the evening, photographing the dancing, the laughter and the friends who linger late. A pre-wedding or engagement session beforehand lets us get to know you, so that by the wedding day the camera already feels like part of the furniture. The confetti line, the receiving line and the toasts each have their own small drama, and we are ready for all of them without asking anyone to pose.

The whole celebration
We can photograph both of you preparing in separate rooms, then bring the two halves of the morning together in one clear part of your gallery. A pre-wedding event or welcome gathering the evening before is often relaxed and full of feeling, and we are glad to be there to record it.
We balance the coverage as we go, checking that the small hours of the morning are not lost behind the noise of the evening. Our approach is to document the day evenly and let it tell itself, so the gallery reads start to finish without gaps.
Why choose us
We have worked in tiny register offices and vast marquees, in bright sun and heavy rain, and we know how to get lovely pictures whatever the day hands us. Whatever the size or style of your wedding, we have very likely photographed something similar, and that familiarity lets us focus fully on your particular day.
We are used to travelling for weddings, so reaching your venue in Oxfordshire is straightforward, and we happily follow the day from preparations through to the evening. We build a generous cushion into every travel plan, so we are set up and ready at your Oxfordshire venue long before the first guests arrive.

Where we travel
Travel is simply part of the job for us, and a venue tucked away in Oxfordshire is one we will reach comfortably with time to spare. A second photographer can join us when travel or a split-venue day calls for it, so coverage across Abingdon, Kidlington and Bicester and Oxfordshire stays seamless.

Good to know
Yes. Where a moment suits it, we prepare a considered black and white version alongside the colour edit, usually for strong light, emotion or reportage frames. You are not charged extra for this. The full gallery is delivered in colour, with black and white used where it genuinely adds something.
Our albums are fine-art and hand-finished, designed with real care so they feel like a treasured keepsake rather than a printed booklet. We choose the images with you, arrange the pages to tell the story of your day, and use quality materials built to last. Many couples tell us the album becomes a family favourite.
For most weddings we arrive early on the day itself, which gives us time to check the light and find the strongest backdrops. If your venue is unusual or you would like a pre-visit, we are happy to arrange one where practical. Knowing the space in advance means we spend the day on you, not on logistics.
We carry professional backup cameras, lenses and lighting to every wedding, and we photograph to dual memory cards so images are written twice as we go. We also hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, which many venues ask to see. Nothing on a wedding day can be re-run, so this cover is not optional for us.
We know plans can change, so if you need to move your date we will always do our best to accommodate you, subject to our availability on the new day. Please let us know as soon as you can, and we will look after you. We aim to be as flexible and understanding as we possibly can.
You receive a private online gallery of high-resolution images, which you can view, download and share with family and friends from any device. The gallery includes full-size files suitable for printing. We keep a backup for a set period after delivery, so nothing is lost if you misplace your copies.
Yes. Every package includes your edited photographs in full resolution with no watermarks, delivered through a private online gallery you can download from and share. You are free to print them yourselves at any size, though we are also happy to produce albums, framed prints and wall art finished to a professional standard.
