Dua closes the contract, and it is the stillest minute of the entire day. We take two or three frames of the raised palms and then lower the camera and let it be.
Music and dancing fill the dholki, and we photograph the circle of women clapping, the singing and the aunties who turn out to be the best dancers in the family. Cutting the cake at a walima is a modern addition that families still want, and we cover it cleanly, along with the speeches, the first dance where there is one and the last of the evening. Prayers and Qur'an recitation open several of the smaller gatherings in many families, and we photograph those quietly and briefly, then put the camera down until the moment has finished.
