Three days, three buildings, one story. The hard problem is not any individual ceremony; it is making Friday evening, Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon look as though they belong in the same book when the rooms share nothing at all. Consistency has to be decided early. In practice that means settling on a look and then refusing to be argued out of it by a purple uplighter.
Epping helps, because the buildings sit close together and the countryside stays constant throughout. A hall, a hotel and a country house are three separate sets of walls, while ancient trees hold one backdrop steady across every day of it. Locally the names are Blake Hall, Kings Oak Hotel and Gaynes Park, with Copped Hall close by.
