The short answer

Your Asian wedding photographer in Stafford, at a glance

Kaushik Bathia is an award winning Asian wedding photographer based in London, photographing Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim and Tamil weddings in Stafford and throughout Staffordshire for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. We make sure the families are in the story too, not just the couple. We photograph every Asian wedding tradition in Stafford, from the Hindu mandap and pheras to the Sikh Anand Karaj, the Muslim nikah and the Tamil muhurtham, across multi day celebrations. Photographing Asian weddings for a quarter of a century has taught us the shape of each faith's day, so we anticipate every ritual rather than react to it. A second photographer, a female photographer for segregated events and hand finished fine art albums are all available, and we travel across Staffordshire and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.

Serving Stafford

Capturing Asian Weddings in Stafford and Staffordshire

Stafford is the county town of Staffordshire. Couples come to us from across the Midlands, and Stone, Cannock and Rugeley are firmly on our patch. We keep our distance during the most solemn moments and step in only for the joyful ones.

We plan our movements so the couple never feels managed, staying near enough to catch everything and far enough to let the day belong to you. We document each event as it happens, so your gallery feels true to the day you lived. On the dance floor we shoot fast and close, catching the bhangra, the dhol and the uncles who never sit down, so the party reads as alive as it felt.

We know Stafford, the county town of Staffordshire, and the surrounding part of Staffordshire well, having photographed Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings throughout Stone, Cannock and Rugeley. We are often in nearby Burton upon Trent and Tamworth too. In and around Stafford, we have photographed at venues such as The Moat House, Weston Hall and Sandon Hall.

Stafford is the county town of Staffordshire with a well preserved historic core including the timber framed Ancient High House. Stafford railway station is on the West Coast Main Line, with the M6 running past the town at junctions 13 and 14. For portraits away from the celebration, Victoria Park beside the River Sow and the grounds of Stafford Castle works beautifully, and Stafford Castle, a Norman motte with a later medieval keep, and the Ancient High House adds a real sense of place.

What we offer

What is included in your Stafford Asian wedding coverage

01

Multi-Day Coverage

From the mehndi through to the final reception, we photograph every day of your celebration with the same care and attention.

02

A Second Photographer

A second shooter lets us cover the bride and groom at once and hold two rooms of a busy day without gaps.

03

Whole-Day Coverage

From the morning preparations to the last dance, every event told as one story.

Every tradition

Coverage That Honours the Anand Karaj

We know the order of the rituals in each tradition, so we are always in position. At a Sikh wedding the exchange of garlands and the palla placed in the couple's hands begin the Anand Karaj, and we follow from the very first hymn. The muhurat and muhurtham, the auspicious hours, set the pace of the ceremony, and we plan around them.

Away from the couple, cousins reunite, aunts organise and children weave through the crowd, and we watch the family moments that fill the edges of the day. For Gujarati families the garba and the raas fill the evening with colour and movement, and we love photographing them. The haldi or pithi is full of colour and play, and often holds the warmest, most natural moments.

The whole celebration

Mehndi, Sangeet, Ceremony and Reception, All Held Together

We tailor the hours to your events, whether it is one key day or a long weekend of celebrations. The sangeet brings an evening of rehearsed dances and late-night music before the wedding day itself.

We stay through the evening to capture the reception, from the grand entrance to the last dance. We always recommend a little time for couple portraits, often at golden hour, away from the bustle.

Why choose us

An Asian wedding photographer covering Stafford

A thousand weddings in, we still find every celebration unique, and photograph it that way. Decades of early muhurat starts and late reception finishes have made us calm under pressure, whatever the tradition and however large the guest list.

We are used to celebrations spread across several venues, and keep the day flowing between them. We are London-based but rarely in London; much of our work takes us across the Midlands.

Good to know

Wedding photography in Stafford, frequently asked questions

Many times. Asian weddings bring together dhol drummers, decorators, caterers and entertainers, and we know how to work alongside them without getting in each other's way. Good coordination on the day keeps things flowing, and it means we are always in the right place when something happens.

We are. The muhurtham, the tying of the thali and the many other rituals of a Tamil or South Indian wedding are all part of our work, and we understand their early timings and the order in which they unfold.

Yes. A pre-wedding shoot is a lovely way to relax in front of the camera before the big day, and we are happy to arrange one at a location you love.

Yes. We regularly work in the larger banqueting halls that host Asian weddings, and we are happy to cover an event at a venue in Stafford. We like to know the room in advance where possible, so we can plan for the lighting and the scale of the day.

Yes. Where events in Stafford are held separately or segregated, we can arrange additional photographers, so every part of the day is covered with sensitivity and discretion. Tell us what your family needs when you enquire, and we will plan the coverage around it.

We do. After twenty-five years across Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings, the order of events in each tradition is second nature to us, which means we are always where we need to be for the moments that matter most.

We do, and always respectfully. Whether the setting is a temple, a gurdwara, a mosque, a mandap, a marquee or a banqueting hall, we are comfortable there. Working quietly around the priest, the granthi or the imam, often with a long lens, we make sure the ceremony is never disturbed.
