Tamworth was once the capital of the Anglo Saxon kingdom of Mercia and grew around its historic castle. Tamworth railway station is an interchange between the West Coast Main Line and the Cross Country route, near the M42 and A5. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as The Castle Grounds pleasure gardens beside the River Anker, with Tamworth Castle, a Norman motte and bailey castle overlooking the town close by for a striking backdrop.

The muhurat and muhurtham, the auspicious hours, set the pace of the ceremony, and we plan around them. We learn the sequence of your particular ceremony beforehand, so whether it is Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati or Tamil, we anticipate each ritual rather than chase it. The kanyadaan and the joining of hands at the mandap are photographed with quiet care.

The reception carries the celebration into the night with speeches, the first dance and the floor filling for the bhangra, and we stay to the final song. From the first event to the last, we tell the full story of the celebration. At the milni the two families meet and embrace, garlands are exchanged and the elders greet one another, and we record the warmth of that first joining.
