Loughborough is a Leicestershire town with a strong South Asian community. We regularly photograph Hindu weddings throughout Shepshed, Quorn and Mountsorrel and the surrounding part of Leicestershire. We photograph at temples, mandaps and banqueting halls right across Leicestershire.

We anticipate each ritual, so the jaimala, the pheras and the saptapadi are never missed. We let the day unfold at its own pace and meet it with a quiet, watchful eye. We keep the calm of the mandap and the energy of the reception in equal measure.

At home with Hindu wedding tradition

We know the order of the mandap rituals by heart, so we are always in position. We photograph the couple's first steps as husband and wife around the sacred fire. The exchange of garlands high above the guests is a moment of laughter and joy, and we are ready for it.

We capture the groom's arrival in procession, on a horse or in a car, surrounded by dancing family. The haldi is full of colour and play, and often holds the warmest, most natural moments. We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration.
