As the aashirwad closes the ceremony, we photograph the blessings of the elders, the rice, the touched feet and the relief and joy settling over both of your families.

Our approach is calm and steady across a long day; we pace ourselves so we are still fresh and alert for the vidaai after hours of coverage since the morning puja. We shoot the whole arc of the day, from the morning preparations to the last dance, as one continuous story, so nothing between the rituals is left untold. We move through the crowd gently at the reception, reading who is about to speak or dance, so the candid moments are photographed cleanly without us being noticed.

Following the ceremony from puja to blessing

When the aashirwad begins and the elders come forward, we move gently between them, photographing each blessing and the rice falling as your married life is welcomed by the whole family. We photograph the seven pheras around the sacred fire closely but unobtrusively, following the vows and the quiet glances between you as the priest leads each round of the ritual. When your father places your hand in your groom's during kanyadaan, we are ready for it, holding the frame steady on the gesture that so many parents wait a lifetime to give.

The pithi and haldi mark the start of the celebrations, and we photograph the turmeric, the blessings and the joy your family shares as they prepare you for the wedding. We love a sangeet, and we photograph the rehearsed performances, the surprise dances and the roar from the family as each group takes its turn on the stage. We stay for the after-hours of the reception when the formalities relax, photographing the late dancing and the quiet corners where the day finally settles into celebration.
