Kanyadaan, mangalsutra and sindoor
Where a lens can go is set by the structure. A mandap hands you clean corners and blocked diagonals in equal measure, and the useful standpoints are the handful that see both faces without a pillar cutting through one of them. We find those while seating is still empty, since afterwards each one belongs to somebody. The havan sits low, so most of the ceremony reads better from a low camera as well; shooting down onto the agni flattens it into a bright patch on the floor.
Then the circuit. From any single spot the laps come out too alike, so we move around it and change focal length; without that an album reads as repetition rather than progression. Kanyadaan needs a frame wide enough for three sets of hands. The mangalsutra is quiet and close. Sindoor is the quickest thing all day, gone inside a second, and the one moment we pre-focus for instead of reacting to.
