The Mandap Ceremony
From the jaimala and kanyadaan to the pheras and saptapadi around the agni, every ritual and its timing understood.
Hindu wedding photography in Wheathampstead, documenting the pre-wedding events, the ceremony and the reception, with a documentary style and a handful of timeless portraits.
Serving Wheathampstead
Wheathampstead is a riverside village with country venues. We are comfortable in every setting in Harpenden, St Albans and Welwyn, from a lavish mandap to a quiet family puja. From Wheathampstead we cover weddings right across Hertfordshire, at temples, hotels, marquees and banqueting suites.
We take the time beforehand to understand your customs and the order of your events. We arrive early, stay late and keep pace with every part of the celebration. We move quietly through the day, capturing the real moments rather than staging them.
Hindu families across Harpenden, St Albans and Welwyn trust us with their weddings, and Wheathampstead, a riverside village with country venues, is a place we return to often. We also cover nearby Harpenden and Bushey.

Every tradition
The varmala and the madhuparka each have their place, and we capture them as they happen. We photograph the couple's first steps as husband and wife around the sacred fire. We work quietly around the pandit so the ceremony at the mandap is never disturbed.
The sangeet is an evening of music and dance, and we capture all of its energy. We photograph the milni, when the two families meet, with all of its warmth. The griha pravesh welcomes the bride into her new home, and we are there for it.

The whole celebration
A multi-day Hindu wedding can run across three or four days, and we plan our coverage around all of them. Many Hindu weddings begin days before the wedding with the Ganesh puja, the haldi and a mehndi.
From the baraat to the last guest, we follow the whole day at its own pace. The wedding day itself is a journey, from the groom's baraat and the milni to the pheras and the vidaai.
Why choose us
Our long experience means a calm, capable presence whatever the day brings. A thousand weddings in, we still find every celebration unique, and photograph it that way.
We are glad to discuss your venues and the journey between them when you enquire. We cover the whole of the UK for weddings, so distance never stands in the way.

Where we travel
We are used to celebrations spread across several venues, and keep the day flowing between them. Multi-venue days are never an issue; we plan the route and the timings in advance.

Good to know
Very. We photograph the pheras and the sacred fire from a respectful distance with quiet, long-lens work, so the ceremony is never disturbed.
Of course. Whether it is an intimate mandap ceremony or a celebration of several hundred, we tailor our coverage to your day.
You will receive a small preview soon after the day, followed by your full edited gallery. We then design a hand-finished album that holds the whole story of your celebration.
Yes. Our style is mainly documentary, but we will also gather a handful of timeless couple and family portraits so your album has both.
Yes. We understand that the auspicious muhurat sets the pace of the ceremony, and we plan our coverage around it so the pheras and saptapadi are always captured calmly and on time.
