What we can promise is that we will have asked beforehand, taken the answer without argument, and placed ourselves accordingly. The nikah itself is quiet and physically small. A signature is a hand, a pen and a witness leaning in. It happens once, at conversational volume, and nobody gets a second take.

A mangni, if there was one, would already show how the family behaves around a camera. Recorded before witnesses, the mahr photographs as paperwork does, which is why our lens goes to watching faces instead of the document. Rooms breathe out afterwards and pictures come easier. Mehndi, days earlier, is colour and noise in poor light. Rukhsati means a car door, an embrace, headlights, and it justifies abandoning a reception hall mid-evening. Baraat, where there is one, wants width.

Yes, without being asked and without making a moment of it. The same goes for footwear, for where we stand and for when the camera gets put down. Tell us anything else your family expects and it becomes part of our brief.

Do you coordinate with our other wedding suppliers?+

Yes. We want the caterer's service times, the videographer's plan, plus the name of whoever controls stage lighting, because those three settle what a room looks like. One short call the week before prevents a corridor argument on the day.

Do we get high-resolution files and the right to print them?+

Yes to both, delivered as full-size files with a written licence to print, share and hand to relatives. We keep a copy for our own backup and we ask before using anything publicly. Nothing is held back to sell you later.

What backup equipment do you bring on the day?+

Each of us carries a second body, duplicates of every lens on the plan, an excessive number of cards, and batteries filled overnight. Copies go onto two drives before the car leaves. It is dull and unremarkable, and that is precisely the point.
