We often take couples to Bournemouth Lower Gardens, ornamental gardens running down to the seafront through the town centre for a few quiet portraits, and Bournemouth Pier, a Victorian pier extending into the bay from the seafront is a lovely backdrop nearby.

The nikah, the mahr and the dua

The rukhsati, when the bride leaves with the groom, is the most tender moment, and we photograph it gently. The signatures of the witnesses that complete the nikah-nama are captured with care. We are ready for the agreeing of the mahr, the gift from the groom to the bride.

The mehndi night is full of colour, music and dancing, and often holds the warmest moments of all. We photograph the bridal preparations with a gentle, unobtrusive eye. The mangni, the engagement that begins the journey, is one we are glad to cover when families ask.
