Carpenders Park station on the London Overground Lioness line runs to Watford Junction and London Euston. We often take couples to Oxhey Woods Local Nature Reserve, close to 100 hectares of ancient woodland for a few quiet portraits, and Oxhey Chapel, a chapel dating from 1612 in nearby South Oxhey is a lovely backdrop nearby.

At the heart of a Tamil wedding is the maangalya dharanam, the tying of the thali that seals the marriage. We anticipate the muhurtham, the auspicious hour that sets the pace of the whole ceremony. The oonjal, the gentle swing ceremony with its songs and warding off of the evil eye, is a moment we capture with warmth.

The nalangu, the playful post-wedding games between the couple and their families, is full of warmth and fun. The celebration often opens with the nichayathartham, the betrothal, and we are there for it. The reception portraits and the receiving line are covered to the very last guest.
