Serving Maple Cross
Maple Cross is a Hertfordshire village in the Three Rivers district. We regularly photograph Tamil weddings throughout Mill End, Sarratt and the surrounding part of Hertfordshire. Couples come to us from across the Home Counties, and Maple Cross is firmly on our patch.
We are at ease with large, multi-day Tamil celebrations and intimate temple ceremonies alike. We let the muhurtham unfold at its own pace and meet it with a quiet, watchful eye. We take the time beforehand to understand your customs and the order of the mandapam rituals.
We are often in Maple Cross for Tamil weddings, and from London the area, taking in Mill End, Sarratt, is an easy journey. Maple Cross is a Hertfordshire village in the Three Rivers district. We also photograph in nearby Mill End and Oxhey. Around Maple Cross we regularly photograph at The Grove, The Waterside Venue and Moor Park Golf Club, among others.
A small Hertfordshire village on the western fringe of Rickmansworth in the Three Rivers district, made up largely of post-war housing. Sits beside junction 17 of the M25 motorway on the A412 Denham Way. We often take couples to Maple Lodge Nature Reserve in the Colne Valley Regional Park for a few quiet portraits, and The Cross Inn, a seventeenth-century former coaching inn is a lovely backdrop nearby.

What we offer
A handful of timeless portraits in your Kanjeevaram silk and temple jewellery, away from the mandapam.
A sneak preview of the muhurtham soon after the wedding, with your full gallery and album to follow.
Calm, unobtrusive coverage that captures the muhurtham and the mandapam as you lived them, never staged.
Every tradition
The oonjal, the gentle swing ceremony with its songs and warding off of the evil eye, is a moment we capture with warmth. We photograph the kanyadaanam, the giving away of the bride, at the mandapam with quiet care. From the kanyadaanam to the saptapadi, the ceremony tells its own story, and we follow it closely.
The mehndi is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it. We photograph the warmth of the two families meeting at the sammandhi mariyathai. The celebration often opens with the nichayathartham, the betrothal, and we are there for it.

The whole celebration
Many Tamil weddings begin the day before with the nichayathartham and a mehndi. The days before the wedding often hold the most relaxed, candid moments of the whole celebration.
Just fifteen minutes is enough for a handful of timeless portraits near your venue. The best galleries are spread evenly across the day, not saved for the thali tying alone.
Why choose us
Experience means we are ready for the early muhurtham, the precise timing and the order of the mandapam rituals. We are trusted with celebrations of every size, from an intimate temple ceremony to several hundred guests.
We are used to celebrations spread across a temple and a banqueting suite, and keep the day flowing between them. We cover the Home Counties and beyond, and are glad to travel further afield for the muhurtham on request.

Where we travel
We are London-based and travel across Hertfordshire and the wider region for the early muhurtham and the mandapam rituals. Distance is never a problem; reaching your temple, your kalyana mandapam and your reception is simply part of how we work.

Good to know
Yes. For larger Tamil weddings we bring a second photographer, so the mandapam rituals and the guests are both fully covered, and the ceremony and the arrivals can be photographed at the same time without anything being lost.

Yes. A pre-wedding shoot is a lovely way to relax in front of the camera before the big day, and we are happy to arrange one at a location you love, whether a favourite spot in Maple Cross or further afield.
Yes, and they are among our favourite parts of the celebration. The oonjal swing with its songs, and the playful nalangu games between the two families afterwards, are full of warmth and laughter, and we capture every bit of it.
