The short answer
Kaushik Bathia is an award winning wedding photographer based in London, photographing weddings in Barking and throughout Greater London for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. We photograph the connections between people, the parent watching from the side and the friends in fits of laughter, because those are the frames you return to. Church, civil, country house, barn, marquee or hotel, and every faith, culture and fusion celebration, we are equally at home photographing them all in Barking. Because we have shot in so many settings, we can advise gently on timings and light while planning, which helps the photography sit comfortably within your day. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Greater London and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Barking
Barking is an east London town. Hotels, marquees, barns and historic churches each ask for a slightly different eye, and we bring all of it to weddings throughout Greater London, Dagenham, East Ham and Ilford included. From the walk down the aisle to the final blessing, we follow the ceremony as it happens, never staging a thing and never breaking its rhythm.
You will barely notice us for much of the day, and that is the point; the less we intrude, the more relaxed everyone stays in front of the lens. Throughout the day we stay unobtrusive and adaptable, adjusting quietly to changes of plan so the coverage never feels stiff or interrupted. Our method is simple: we follow the day rather than direct it, so what you see later is how it actually felt, not a version we staged.
Couples marrying in Barking find us close to hand and easy to reach. Barking is an east London town, and we photograph weddings here and in nearby Acton and Willesden alike. Venues we have photographed at near Barking include Eastbury Manor House and Oasis Banqueting Hall.
Barking is an east London town with a large South Asian community, part of the borough of Barking and Dagenham and steeped in monastic history. Barking station is served by the District and Hammersmith and City lines, London Overground and c2c services. For portraits away from the celebration, Abbey Green, the public open space around the abbey ruins, and nearby Barking Park works beautifully, and The ruins of Barking Abbey and the surviving Curfew Tower beside St Margaret's Church adds a real sense of place.

What we offer
We photograph weddings across the country and are happy to travel wherever your celebration is taking place.
We are there while you get ready, catching the small details and the calm before the day opens up.
Every wedding is different, so we shape hours, albums and extras around your plans rather than a fixed list.
Every kind of wedding
When two traditions come together in one ceremony, we photograph each part with equal warmth so the finished set honours both sides of your family. The moment you are declared married deserves to be seen clearly, so we plan our angles in advance and hold steady when it arrives. The look you give each other as the words are spoken is often the picture you keep longest, and we are ready for it however your ceremony is arranged.
We handle the group photographs briskly and kindly, keeping the list short so you are not pulled away from your guests for longer than you need to be. From getting ready in the morning to the final send off, we document the whole day as it flows, so nothing between the big moments is lost. From the first arrivals to the send off, we photograph the reception as one continuous celebration rather than a series of items to tick off a list.

The whole celebration
Pre-wedding shoots and welcome events let us meet your closest people early, which means fewer strangers behind the camera when the wedding itself arrives. If you would like a first look before the ceremony, we find a quiet spot for it and photograph that private moment without an audience.
The finished set should feel like the day itself, unhurried in the morning, warm over the meal and loose by the evening. We read how the day is going and step back when it needs room, then come closer for the moments that ask to be kept.
Why choose us
Couples have trusted us for over two decades, and much of our work still comes from the friends and family of people we have photographed before. The awards are nice to have, but the real reassurance is a thousand couples who let us photograph one of the most important days of their lives.
It is no trouble at all for us to head out to Dagenham, East Ham and Ilford and the wider Greater London, and we often do exactly that across the wedding season. We are used to travelling for weddings, so reaching your venue in Greater London is straightforward, and we happily follow the day from preparations through to the evening.

Where we travel
Distance is rarely an issue for us; we regularly drive out to Greater London and further, arriving early so nothing feels rushed. Longer journeys and rural venues suit us well; we have photographed weddings in every corner of Greater London and are glad to travel.

Good to know
Almost certainly. We photograph at every kind of venue, from country houses and barns to hotels, register offices and places of worship in and around Barking. If we have not worked there before we research the space and, where possible, visit or arrive early to read the light and plan the key shots.
We do. Your favourite images can be hand-finished into a fine-art album, designed with you page by page so it tells the story of the day in order. Printed on quality materials, it is built to be handled and passed down. Many couples also add parent copies as gifts for both families.
Once you are happy to go ahead, we hold your date with a signed agreement and a booking fee. Until both are in place we cannot promise the date will still be free, as we take a limited number of weddings each year. We would always encourage you to get in touch early to avoid disappointment.
You will usually see a small preview within a week or so, and your full online gallery follows a few weeks after the wedding, depending on the time of year. Every image is edited by hand, which takes a little time, but we know you are eager to relive the day and we never leave you waiting unduly.
We offer professional prints, framed pieces and wall art produced by trusted UK labs, so the colour and quality match how the images look on screen. You can also print your own from the high-resolution files. If you want help choosing which frames suit a wall, we are happy to advise.
For a full wedding day you can typically expect several hundred edited images, and often more for larger celebrations. We favour quality over sheer volume, so every photograph we deliver has been chosen and finished by hand. You receive them in full resolution with no watermarks, ready to print or share as you wish.
We design the first draft for you, choosing and sequencing images so the album flows as a story rather than a random set of photos. You then review the proof and request changes until it feels right. Nothing is printed until you have approved the final design, so you stay in control of the outcome.
