The short answer
For couples marrying in Barking, Kaushik Bathia offers award winning Asian wedding photography, with more than twenty five years of experience across every tradition and over a thousand weddings behind the camera. During the pooja and the fire ceremony we work from the edges with longer lenses, keeping the priest, the flames and the vows undisturbed. From the mehndi and sangeet to the baraat, the ceremony and the reception, we photograph every part of an Asian wedding in and around Barking with knowledge and care. We understand how much the day means, and we photograph it with the care it deserves. A second photographer for the busiest days, a female photographer where needed and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Greater London for your wedding.
Serving Barking
Barking is an east London town with a large South Asian community. Couples come to us from across London and the surrounding area, and Dagenham, East Ham and Ilford are firmly on our patch. We are ready for the giving of the sindoor and the tying of the mangalsutra at a Hindu ceremony.
Our approach is relaxed and documentary, so you can be present in your own wedding. Across a long day we keep watching the edges of the room, where a grandmother's tears or two cousins laughing often say more than the staged group. We document each event as it happens, so your gallery feels true to the day you lived.
Couples come to us from all over the region, and Barking is an east London town with a large South Asian community, so reaching your venues here is second nature. We also photograph across nearby Acton and Willesden. Local wedding venues we know near Barking include Eastbury Manor House and Oasis Banqueting Hall.
Barking is an east London town with a large South Asian community, part of the borough of Barking and Dagenham and steeped in monastic history. Barking station is served by the District and Hammersmith and City lines, London Overground and c2c services. We often take couples to Abbey Green, the public open space around the abbey ruins, and nearby Barking Park for a few quiet portraits, and The ruins of Barking Abbey and the surviving Curfew Tower beside St Margaret's Church is a lovely backdrop nearby.

What we offer
Over twenty-five years of Asian weddings mean we rarely meet a ritual or a room we have not photographed before.
For large celebrations, a second shooter covers the baraat and the preparations at once.
Whether by baraat, doli or a lit-up reception walk, we make sure your entrance is caught in full and never half-framed.
Every tradition
The muhurat and muhurtham, the auspicious hours, set the pace of the ceremony, and we plan around them. When the couple rise as husband and wife and turn to their families, we are already facing them, ready for the smiles that follow the solemnity. At the gurdwara, the couple's walk around the Guru Granth Sahib during each laav is captured with reverence.
When the baraat sets off, the dhol drives the dancing and the groom moves slowly forward amid his family, and we are in the thick of every joyful step. The dhol and dancing of the baraat are pure joy, and we capture every bit of the energy. When the reception loosens and the dance floor takes over, the bhangra runs late and joyful, and we stay for every last turn under the lights.

The whole celebration
Tell us which events matter most and we will build the coverage around them. We can join you for a single event or follow the whole journey from the very first ritual.
An Asian wedding day rarely runs to a single clock, so we plan around the ceremony, the meals and the long gaps in between, staying ready for whatever arrives next. From the morning preparations to the final dance, we give every part of the day the same care.

Good to know
It varies with how many events you have, but multi-day Asian weddings typically produce several hundred finished images once we have edited the full collection. We select and refine every frame rather than handing over everything, so what you receive is the genuine story of your days.
We are. At a Barking ceremony we keep our distance during the vows and the sacred rituals, working quietly with a long lens whatever the tradition, so nothing is disturbed. Our documentary style means the day feels like yours, and we remain calm and unobtrusive throughout.
Yes. We regularly work in the larger banqueting halls that host Asian weddings, and we are happy to cover an event at a venue in Barking. We like to know the room in advance where possible, so we can plan for the lighting and the scale of the day.
Every time. To each Barking wedding we bring backup cameras, lenses and memory cards, and we back up your images as the day goes on, keeping your photographs safe. With twenty-five years and over a thousand weddings behind us, being ready for anything comes naturally.
As early as you comfortably can. Popular auspicious dates go quickly, and if your wedding is in Barking on a busy weekend we would encourage you to enquire well ahead. Once your date is set, a booking secures it and lets us begin planning your coverage properly.
Being London-based, we reach Barking and the towns around it easily, and the journey is a familiar one. What you get is a widely experienced Asian wedding specialist, at home with every tradition, who knows the venues of the area and travels to you without fuss.
Yes. The haldi or pithi is a warm, joyful morning ritual where turmeric is applied to the couple, and it makes for wonderfully candid, colourful photographs. We keep back a little to let the family enjoy the fun freely, stepping in close only when the moment invites it.
