Register offices, hotels, country houses and converted barns are all familiar to us across the West Midlands, Smethwick, Handsworth and Edgbaston included. Our approach to the ceremony is simple: watch closely, stay out of the way and record the promises exactly as you make them.

For family groups we keep instructions light and the mood friendly, getting everyone through quickly so the formal part never turns into a chore. Light guides much of what we do; we chase the soft hour, work with candlelight and use what a venue gives us to shape frames that feel timeless. We read the light in each room and work with what the day gives us, favouring window light and shade over anything that draws attention to a camera.

Birmingham New Street is a major national rail hub, and the city sits at the heart of the motorway network near the M6 and M5. When there is time for couple portraits, Cannon Hill Park and the nearby Birmingham Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston is a favourite, and The Library of Birmingham and the Grade II listed Council House in Victoria Square makes a memorable setting.

However you choose to marry, we read the room first, learn where to stand and then document the exchange of vows as it truly unfolds. We photograph the exchange of promises gently, whether that happens at an altar, before a registrar or beneath an arch of flowers, so the pictures feel like the moment itself.

We photograph the speeches, the toasts and the quiet reactions around the room, then stay through the first dance and into the evening celebrations. Preparations, portraits, the meal and the party each get their share of our attention, and we pace ourselves so no part of the celebration is thinly covered. We set aside a little time for portraits, walking with you somewhere quiet for a handful of relaxed frames that still feel like you.
