Under the mandap the priest's fire will smoke, and rather than avoid it we let the haze soften the light behind you, which gives the pheras a warmth no lamp can imitate. Vows are spoken facing the priest, which means the best expressions are visible only from behind him. Asking permission in advance to work from that side changes the ceremony pictures entirely. The groom's entrance sets the tone, and we photograph the baraat building around him, the family dancing him in and the moment the mandap comes into view for the first time.
A pre-wedding shoot around a spot that means something to you gives us both a run through, and gives you photographs that feel relaxed and unmistakably yours. Jaggo night is loud, late and full of decorated pots and dancing in the street, and the mix of darkness and lamplight makes it one of the more interesting evenings to shoot. The garba and raas can run for hours, and we pace ourselves with it, photographing the shifting circles and the colour so the last dance looks as alive as the first.

Multi-day Hindu weddings suit our approach, and we settle in early so the haldi, the mehndi and the sangeet each get proper coverage. Four in the morning is not unusual for a Hindu wedding start, and we plan our own night before around it so the first frames of your day are made by someone already awake and ready.
A wedding day has many chapters, and we cover the baraat, the ceremony, the reception and the vidaai so none of them is left thin. Emotion peaks twice in a Hindu wedding day, at the ceremony and again at the vidaai, and we save energy deliberately so the second is photographed as carefully as the first.
