The short answer
An award winning, London based wedding photographer, Kaushik Bathia has spent more than twenty five years photographing weddings in Harlow and right across Essex. We shoot with a storyteller's eye, watching how the day connects together, so the finished collection reads as a narrative rather than a set of separate photographs. Church, civil, country house, barn, marquee or hotel, and every faith, culture and fusion celebration, we are equally at home photographing them all in Harlow. Having documented weddings across many cultures and styles, we arrive knowing the shape of a day and where its meaningful moments tend to gather. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Essex and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Harlow
Harlow is an Essex town on the Hertfordshire border. Couples across Essex choose all sorts of settings, and we are as comfortable in a village church or register office as we are in a barn, a marquee or a hotel ballroom near Sawbridgeworth, Epping and Hoddesdon. However your ceremony unfolds, in a chapel, a barn or a hotel garden room, we stay quietly at the edges and let the words and the looks between you speak for themselves.
Our approach leans on being calm and unobtrusive, blending into the day so guests forget we are there and simply carry on enjoying themselves. During the quiet stretches we keep looking for the details you arranged, the flowers, the notes, the table settings, and fit them in without slowing anything down. We shoot with a storyteller's eye, watching how the day connects together, so the finished collection reads as a narrative rather than a set of separate photographs.
Couples marrying in Harlow find us close to hand and easy to reach. Harlow is an Essex town on the Hertfordshire border, and we photograph weddings here and in nearby Grays and Loughton alike. Venues we know well in and near Harlow include That Amazing Place, Down Hall Country House Hotel and Manor of Groves.
Harlow is an Essex new town on the Hertfordshire border, known as Sculpture Town for its large collection of public artworks placed around the town. Harlow Town station is on the West Anglia Main Line with services to London Liverpool Street. For portraits away from the celebration, Harlow Town Park, one of the largest urban parks in Britain, laid out by Frederick Gibberd and Sylvia Crowe works beautifully, and The Gibberd Garden, the listed garden and sculpture collection created by town planner Sir Frederick Gibberd adds a real sense of place.

What we offer
Your online gallery lands soon after the day, ready to share with family who could not be in the room.
We stay from morning preparations through to the evening party, so every part of your day is photographed as it happens.
Every wedding is different, so we shape hours, albums and extras around your plans rather than a fixed list.
Every kind of wedding
Some couples marry quietly with a handful of witnesses and others before a full congregation, and we adapt our approach so the coverage suits the scale of your ceremony. The exchange of rings, the signing of the register and the walk back up the aisle all matter to us, and we cover each without asking you to pause. However your ceremony unfolds, in a chapel, a barn or a hotel garden room, we stay quietly at the edges and let the words and the looks between you speak for themselves.
The drinks reception is where the day loosens and the real laughter starts, so we move through the crowd and photograph the reunions and quiet chats as they happen. A pre-wedding shoot around Harlow or a place that means something to you gives us relaxed images and a head start on the wedding day. We photograph the cake, the first dance and the evening party with an easy touch, so the celebration keeps its energy while we quietly gather the pictures.

The whole celebration
We talk through the timeline with you well ahead, marking the light, the travel and the key moments so the early part of the day runs without a rush. A pre-wedding event or welcome gathering the evening before is often relaxed and full of feeling, and we are glad to be there to record it.
We give equal care to the quiet moments and the big ones, so the finished set tells the whole story of the day, not just its highlights. By staying with you from start to finish, we can show the day building, so the energy on the dance floor clearly comes from somewhere.
Why choose us
We know that a wedding happens only once, so we bring the reliability of decades of practice and the care of someone who still loves the work. With more than 1000 weddings behind us over twenty-five years, very little takes us by surprise, and that experience keeps us steady when a day runs long.
We come to you, wherever the day unfolds, and we are comfortable covering venues throughout Essex and the surrounding counties. We travel widely for weddings and think nothing of a longer drive to reach venues in and around Sawbridgeworth, Epping and Hoddesdon and the broader Essex.

Where we travel
When a day is spread out or the drive is a long one, a second photographer can travel with us so coverage across Essex stays unbroken. You focus on the day and we handle the travel, arriving early at your Essex venue and staying as long as the plan requires.

Good to know
For most weddings within a reasonable distance, travel is included and there is nothing extra to think about. For venues much further afield, or where an overnight stay is sensible, we may add a small contribution towards costs, which we will always agree with you beforehand. There are never any hidden fees.
Many couples find it does. A relaxed pre-wedding session lets you get used to how we work and how you look in your photos, with no pressure and no audience. It also gives us images for save-the-dates or guest books. By your wedding day, being photographed feels natural rather than new.
Yes. We design fine-art albums using thick, lay-flat pages and archival printing, then send you a proof to review before anything goes to print. You can add matching parent copies at a smaller size. The album is optional, so you can book coverage alone and add one later if you prefer.
In more than twenty years we have never missed a wedding, but we take the risk seriously. We work within a trusted network of experienced professional photographers, so in a genuine emergency we can arrange skilled cover who shoots to our standard, and we still handle the editing of your images ourselves afterwards.
With a little planning, the formal family photographs usually take around twenty to thirty minutes, leaving plenty of time for you to enjoy your guests. We suggest keeping the list to the groups that matter most, as very long lists eat into the celebration. We will guide everyone along warmly and keep things moving.
You receive a full edited selection that tells the story of the day from start to finish, not a cut-down teaser. We remove test frames, blinks and repeats, since those add nothing for you. What is left is a complete, high-resolution gallery that covers every part of the celebration.
Our albums are fine-art and hand-finished, designed with real care so they feel like a treasured keepsake rather than a printed booklet. We choose the images with you, arrange the pages to tell the story of your day, and use quality materials built to last. Many couples tell us the album becomes a family favourite.
