The short answer
An award winning, London based wedding photographer, Kaushik Bathia has spent more than twenty five years photographing weddings in Hoddesdon and right across Hertfordshire. We work in available light wherever we can, adding a soft flash only when a dark room needs it, so the images stay true to how the evening looked. Whatever your wedding looks like in Hoddesdon, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. Experience teaches you to expect the unexpected; after so many weddings we have a quiet plan for rain, delays and last minute changes, and it rarely shows. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Hertfordshire and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Hoddesdon
Hoddesdon is a Lea Valley town with banqueting venues. Barns, country houses, hotels and garden marquees all feature in the weddings we shoot around Broxbourne, Ware and Cheshunt and across Hertfordshire. A registry office wedding can be just as moving as any cathedral, and we bring the same attention to the small, tender details wherever your vows take place.
We photograph the connections between people, the parent watching from the side and the friends in fits of laughter, because those are the frames you return to. Light guides much of what we do; we chase the soft hour, work with candlelight and use what a venue gives us to shape frames that feel timeless. We shoot loosely and instinctively, following the energy of the room, so the collection you receive moves at the same pace the day actually did.
Couples marrying in Hoddesdon find us close to hand and easy to reach. Hoddesdon is a Lea Valley town with banqueting venues, and we photograph weddings here and in nearby Bishop's Stortford and Letchworth alike. Close to Hoddesdon, we have worked at venues including Cheshunt Marriott Hotel, Mayhem Function Hall and Stanboroughs Function Room.
Hoddesdon is a family orientated Lea Valley town in the Borough of Broxbourne, with banqueting venues and a landmark clock tower in its centre. Hoddesdon is served by Rye House and Broxbourne stations on the West Anglia Main Line to London Liverpool Street. We often take couples to Lee Valley Regional Park at Rye House and the lakes and weir at Dobbs Weir for a few quiet portraits, and The Hoddesdon Clock Tower, built in 1835 on the site of a medieval belfry is a lovely backdrop nearby.

What we offer
We photograph the day as it unfolds, watching for real moments rather than staging them, so your gallery feels honest.
We stay from the morning preparations through to the evening, so the whole story is there in one set.
We photograph weddings across the country, so wherever you are marrying we can be there with no surprise cost.
Every kind of wedding
However you choose to marry, we read the room first, learn where to stand and then document the exchange of vows as it truly unfolds. We time our movements to yours, staying still through the readings and the promises, then finding the right spot for the first kiss as a married couple. From the first steps down the aisle to the final walk back as a married couple, we follow your ceremony closely and let it breathe without any staging.
Between the ceremony and the meal, the drinks reception is where the day breathes, and we move through it gathering the warmth and the conversation. We photograph the cake, the first dance and the evening party with an easy touch, so the celebration keeps its energy while we quietly gather the pictures. From the morning preparations to the last dance, we cover the whole day, and we are glad to include an engagement shoot beforehand so you feel relaxed on camera.

The whole celebration
Early coverage means we are already reading the light and the layout of the venue by the time your guests begin to gather. For weddings spread across more than one day, we plan the coverage in advance so each event, from the welcome dinner onwards, gets its proper place.
By staying with you from start to finish, we can show the day building, so the energy on the dance floor clearly comes from somewhere. We resist rushing, letting each part of the day have its own moment, so the story you keep is complete rather than a run of headline scenes.
Why choose us
Couples have trusted us for over two decades, and much of our work still comes from the friends and family of people we have photographed before. Long experience means we handle groups and speeches smoothly, keeping things moving so the schedule holds and your guests stay relaxed.
Rural lanes, tricky parking and out-of-the-way estates hold no fear for us; we have driven to weddings in every part of Hertfordshire. Because we have photographed in so many corners of Hertfordshire, we usually know the venue, the light and the parking before we even set off for Broxbourne, Ware and Cheshunt.

Where we travel
Long journeys and remote settings suit us well, and weddings across Broxbourne, Ware and Cheshunt and the further reaches of Hertfordshire are all within easy reach. Multi-location days, with a ceremony in one place and a reception in another, are something we plan carefully, whether that is within Broxbourne, Ware and Cheshunt or across Hertfordshire.

Good to know
Yes. Where a moment suits it, we prepare a considered black and white version alongside the colour edit, usually for strong light, emotion or reportage frames. You are not charged extra for this. The full gallery is delivered in colour, with black and white used where it genuinely adds something.
You will usually see a small preview within a week or so, and your full online gallery follows a few weeks after the wedding, depending on the time of year. Every image is edited by hand, which takes a little time, but we know you are eager to relive the day and we never leave you waiting unduly.
Your date is held once we have a signed agreement and a booking deposit, with the balance due before the wedding. The deposit secures your date against other enquiries and comes off your total. We keep the paperwork simple and clear, and we are always happy to explain any part of it before you commit.
Nerves are completely normal, and nearly every couple feels the same at first. Because we work mainly in a documentary way, most of the day asks nothing of you, so you soon forget we are there. An engagement shoot beforehand is a gentle way to practise, and by the wedding the camera feels far more familiar.
Yes, every booking comes with a clear written agreement that sets out what is included, the hours of coverage, the costs, and the payment dates. It protects both of us and means there is no confusion later on. We will happily answer any questions before you sign, so you feel completely comfortable.
Price matters, of course, but the photographs will outlast the day itself, so style and trust should come first. Choose someone whose work genuinely moves you and who you feel comfortable with, then find a package that fits. Your wedding cannot be photographed again, so it is worth getting this one decision right.
The easiest first step is to call us on 07956 505383, or send us a message with your date and venue in Hoddesdon. We will check availability, arrange a chat or a meeting, and talk through what you have in mind. Once you are happy, a signed agreement and booking fee secure the day.
