The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed weddings across Hampshire for over twenty five years, and couples in Southampton choose him for calm, natural coverage backed by more than a thousand weddings and five European Gold awards. For portraits we give a little gentle guidance, then step back and let you be yourselves, which is where the natural, easy frames tend to happen. We cover every kind of wedding in Southampton, from church, civil and register office ceremonies to country houses, barns, marquees, hotels and garden venues, as well as multicultural and fusion celebrations. Our long track record means references are easy to come by and albums easy to show, so you can see exactly the standard your day will be photographed to. You can add an engagement shoot, a second photographer and hand finished albums, and we are glad to travel across Hampshire and beyond, so wherever your day is held it is well within reach.
Serving Southampton
Southampton is a south-coast city with a diverse community. From intimate register office ceremonies to grand country estates, we cover every kind of venue throughout Eastleigh, Totton and Hedge End and the wider Hampshire. Some couples marry quietly with a handful of witnesses and others before a full congregation, and we adapt our approach so the coverage suits the scale of your ceremony.
We shoot loosely and instinctively, following the energy of the room, so the collection you receive moves at the same pace the day actually did. We move calmly through the day, anticipating where the next moment will land, so we are already in place when it happens instead of chasing it. When we do gather you for couple portraits, we keep it brief and easy, walking and talking rather than posing, so the pictures still feel like you.
Weddings take us to Southampton more often than you might think. Southampton is a south-coast city with a diverse community, and we are just as happy photographing couples in the neighbouring Portsmouth and Basingstoke. Around Southampton we regularly photograph at Southampton Harbour Hotel, Novotel Southampton and Hilton at the Ageas Bowl, among others.
Southampton is a major port city on the south coast of Hampshire and the historic departure point of the Titanic. Southampton Central railway station is on the South Western Main Line from London Waterloo. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Southampton Common, a large expanse of open parkland and woodland north of the city centre, with The Bargate, a medieval gatehouse that was once the main entrance to the walled town close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
As the lights drop and the dancing starts, we keep working to catch the energy of the party in full swing.
A relaxed shoot before the wedding lets us get to know each other and helps you feel at ease on the day.
We photograph weddings across the country and are happy to travel wherever your celebration is taking place.
Every kind of wedding
In Southampton and beyond, we have photographed ceremonies of every kind, and that experience means we anticipate each moment rather than chase it. From the moment the doors open to the confetti afterwards, we treat the ceremony as the heart of the day and photograph it with patience and care. Vows are the heart of the day, and we photograph them without fuss, moving carefully and keeping our distance so the moment stays entirely yours.
We cover the details you have laboured over, the flowers, the table settings and the cake, then return our attention to the people who fill the room. We love the in-between moments as much as the headlines, the flower girl asleep under a table, the grandparents on the dance floor, the quiet cigarette outside. From the first arrivals to the send off, we photograph the reception as one continuous celebration rather than a series of items to tick off a list.

The whole celebration
Long before the ceremony, there are welcome dinners, mehndi evenings and family arrivals, and we can cover those too so your story does not begin mid-morning. Multi part weddings ask for careful planning, and we agree the key moments across each gathering in advance so nothing important slips past unseen.
We stay light on our feet through the whole day, moving with the celebration rather than pulling it towards us for a picture. We cover the full arc of the day so that, looking back, you can walk through it in order rather than in scattered highlights.
Why choose us
With more than twenty-five years and over a thousand weddings behind us, very little on a wedding day is new to us, and that calm shows in the pictures. A second photographer is available whenever your day calls for it, giving broader coverage and a second perspective on the moments you cannot be in two places for.
From our studio it is an easy run out to Hampshire, and we always allow generous time so we can settle in well before the first shot. Getting to your venue is our responsibility, not yours, and we regularly cover weddings right across Hampshire and beyond.

Where we travel
A second photographer can join us when travel or a split-venue day calls for it, so coverage across Eastleigh, Totton and Hedge End and Hampshire stays seamless. When a day is spread out or the drive is a long one, a second photographer can travel with us so coverage across Hampshire stays unbroken.

Good to know
Yes. Where a moment suits it, we prepare a considered black and white version alongside the colour edit, usually for strong light, emotion or reportage frames. You are not charged extra for this. The full gallery is delivered in colour, with black and white used where it genuinely adds something.
Many couples find it does. A relaxed pre-wedding session lets you get used to how we work and how you look in your photos, with no pressure and no audience. It also gives us images for save-the-dates or guest books. By your wedding day, being photographed feels natural rather than new.
Most couples choose full coverage from the morning preparations through to the first dance, all your edited high-resolution images, and a private online gallery to share with family and friends. You can add a second photographer, an engagement shoot, or one of our hand-finished fine-art albums. We will tailor the details to the day you have in mind.
We are photographers rather than a film company, so we keep our full attention on stills. If you would like a film of the day, we work well beside videographers and can recommend teams whose style sits comfortably with ours. Booking both early helps everyone plan around the same timeline.
Once you are happy to go ahead, we hold your date with a signed agreement and a booking fee. Until both are in place we cannot promise the date will still be free, as we take a limited number of weddings each year. We would always encourage you to get in touch early to avoid disappointment.
Awards are a reassurance rather than the whole story. Our five European Gold awards reflect years of consistent, careful work, but what matters most is that you love your own photographs. We are proud of the recognition; even so, your happiness with the finished images will always be the real measure for us.
Yes. We design fine-art albums using thick, lay-flat pages and archival printing, then send you a proof to review before anything goes to print. You can add matching parent copies at a smaller size. The album is optional, so you can book coverage alone and add one later if you prefer.
