Agree photo points in Aldershot
Aldershot's Catalpa room seats 16, and the photographer is asked to agree photo points with the registration staff.

North-east Hampshire is closer to our Northwood studio than many people expect: Farnborough is about 26 miles away and Aldershot about 29. Kaushik Bathia covers weddings from there down to Winchester, Portsmouth and Southampton.
The short answer
Yes. Kaushik Bathia photographs weddings across Hampshire. The north-east is close, with Farnborough about 26 miles from his Northwood studio, Aldershot about 29 and Basingstoke about 37. Winchester is about 54 miles and Portsmouth and Southampton about 63 to 65. Coverage starts from £750 with bespoke packages, and travel from Northwood is quoted up front in writing, including any overnight stay for an early south-coast start.
Superb and highly professional wedding photographer. We had the pleasure of working with Kaushik Bathia Photography for a recent wedding at Orchardleigh Estate.
Excellent photography services before and during our wedding. Really enjoyed him being our photographer and he did a great job with the pictures. Working with him on the albums post wedding has been fantastic, he takes time to understand our ideas and portrays them in his work. Brilliant personality and very professional.
…Kaushik has an incredible eye for detail and an exceptional talent for capturing those fleeting, candid moments that made our wedding so unique. The photos are absolutely stunning—full of emotion, vibrancy, and creativity. He didn’t just take photographs; he told the story of our wedding day in the most heartfelt and artistic way possible.
Near and far
Hampshire is a big county, and the distance from our studio changes a lot depending on where you marry. The north-east corner, Rushmoor, takes in Farnborough and Aldershot near the Surrey border, about 26 and 29 miles from Northwood. Basingstoke is about 37 miles. Those weddings are straightforward day trips.
Further south, Winchester, the county town, is about 54 miles away. Portsmouth, on Portsea Island, is about 63 miles and Southampton about 65. For a south-coast wedding that begins with morning preparations, an overnight stay is usually sensible at this distance and is set out in your written quote.
Wherever you are, the cost is clear in advance. Travel from Northwood, and a night's stay if one is needed, are listed in writing before you book, so a Southampton wedding and a Farnborough wedding are each priced for what they actually involve.

Register offices
Hampshire County Council runs registration for most of the county. In the north-east, the Aldershot Registration Office is inside Aldershot library in the town centre, and its Catalpa ceremony room seats up to 16 guests. The council asks the official photographer to agree photo points with the registration staff on the day.
In Basingstoke, the registration office is in Goldings, a Georgian building on London Road, with the Carnarvon Room for up to 30 guests and the Wellesley Room for up to 50. The council points couples to the neighbouring War Memorial Park for photographs, including its Victorian bandstand, and asks guests to wait until they are outside before throwing confetti.
Hampshire Register Office itself is in the 19th-century buildings of Castle Hill in central Winchester, with four rooms: the Castle Room for up to 42, the Basing Room with period features and a chandelier for 32, the Westgate Room for 16 and the Avalon Room for 6. Portsmouth has its own register office at Milldam House, where a first-floor ceremony room takes up to 45 guests with a lift and step-free access, and couples can be photographed on the period staircase and in the garden.
Venue types
Hampshire's venues reflect its mix of countryside and coast. In the north there are country house hotels with large grounds, Victorian mansion hotels with garden ceremony spaces, and estates where a ceremony can be held outdoors. On the Surrey border, exclusive-use manor houses with walled gardens, lakes and on-site accommodation take weddings of up to 250 or 300.
Around Winchester, couples choose between country manors outside the city, civic halls and city-centre hotels. On the coast, Portsmouth's approved list includes historic forts and waterfront buildings, while Southampton offers waterside hotels and a council-run museum.
Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth and Southampton each keep an approved list, which is the place to check a venue's licence and capacity. Send us the venue when you enquire and we will plan the day around it.

Portraits
In Aldershot, the Municipal Gardens are a Victorian-style garden five minutes' walk from the town centre, opened in 1904, with an Edwardian gate on Grosvenor Road, a wisteria pergola, a fountain and an avenue of mature lime trees. That is a short walk from the registration office in the library. Manor Park, the town's main park, has the Heroes' Shrine war memorial garden and a large pond.
In Basingstoke, the War Memorial Park was laid out between 1788 and 1797 as the grounds of Goldings and bought by the town in 1921 as a memorial. It sits right beside the registration office. In Winchester, the Abbey Gardens lie next to the Guildhall's grand front steps on the Broadway, close to Hamo Thornycroft's statue of King Alfred, and the cathedral has the longest nave of any Gothic cathedral in Europe.
On the coast, Southsea Rock Garden is 1.35 hectares of sheltered parkland built by hand in the early 1920s, with ponds and a fountain. Southampton's medieval town walls are the longest surviving stretch in England, and the Bargate, built about 1180, was the main gateway into the town.
Seasons and guests
Spring brings bluebells to Rowhill Nature Reserve on the Aldershot to Farnham border, and summer suits the long gardens of the county's manor houses. On the coast, sea air and open skies give a brighter, cooler light, though wind on the seafront can catch veils. In winter, Winchester's period interiors and chandeliers carry the day.
For guests, the South West Main Line links Basingstoke and Winchester with London Waterloo, and Winchester's fastest trains to Waterloo take 61 minutes. Farnborough (Main) and Aldershot also have trains to Waterloo, and Southampton Central is 79 miles from Waterloo on the same main line.

Planning

At Goldings, guests are asked to wait until they are outside to throw confetti. War Memorial Park next door is ready for photographs.
Hampshire Register Office offers four rooms, from the Castle Room for 42 down to the Avalon Room for 6.
Farnborough and Aldershot are under 30 miles from Northwood, so most weddings there need no overnight stay.
For Portsmouth or Southampton with an early start, a night nearby may make sense. It is listed in the written quote.
Southsea portraits look open and bright, but plan for wind with hair, veils and long dresses.
