Excellent photography services before and during our wedding. Really enjoyed him being our photographer and he did a great job with the pictures. Working with him on the albums post wedding has been fantastic, he takes time to understand our ideas and portrays them in his work. Brilliant personality and very professional.

Register office

One register office for the whole of Worcestershire: The Glass Room at The Hive

Worcestershire works differently from many counties. Its registration service has moved to The Hive on Sawmill Walk, The Butts, in Worcester, and all appointments and statutory ceremonies now take place there, including for couples from Bromsgrove and Redditch. If you are giving notice or booking a register office wedding, that is the one address you need.

The ceremony suite is The Glass Room, which holds up to 60 people. The Hive is the city's landmark library, a short walk from the River Severn, so a register office wedding there can be followed by portraits by the river or near the cathedral without a long drive. Ask the registration service about photography inside the room when you book, and we will plan around their guidance.

Venue styles

Georgian halls, riverside hotels and barns with the Malvern Hills on the skyline

Worcester's approved ceremony venues include a historic civic hall, riverside hotels looking towards the Severn and the cathedral, and several of the city's museums and galleries, some with gardens beside the canal.

Around Bromsgrove there is a different flavour: exclusive-use barns, farmhouse venues with lakes and tipis, and a museum of historic buildings. Near Redditch, the approved list includes a former rectory with stretch tents in a field, a manor house hotel with lawns and woodland, and a golf and country club.

West of Worcester, some hotel gardens are licensed for outdoor ceremonies with the Malvern Hills behind. Barns and tipis give soft, even light, while Georgian rooms reward a flash-free approach by the windows. We look at each venue's layout with you before the day.

Worcester portraits

The cathedral, the Severn and Worcester's riverside parks

Worcester Cathedral, founded in 680 and Grade I listed, holds the tombs of King John and Arthur, Prince of Wales, and its central tower dates from 1374. It is the defining view from the riverside and from the parks on the west bank. Cripplegate Park in St John's, near the county cricket ground, was set aside as a recreation ground in 1878.

On the east bank, Gheluvelt Park runs from Barbourne Road down to the Severn. It opened in 1922 to commemorate the 2nd Worcesters at the Battle of Gheluvelt and has a duck pond and bandstand fed by the Barbourne Brook. Both parks are short drives from the city centre and suit a portrait stop between ceremony and meal.

Redditch and Bromsgrove: country parks, needle-making history and the Lickey Hills

Redditch was once home to 90 per cent of the world's needle production and became a new town in 1964. For portraits, Arrow Valley Country Park covers 900 acres with a lake of nearly 30 acres, and Morton Stanley Park, left to the town by a needle maker, has veteran trees and views towards the Malvern Hills. Forge Mill Needle Museum and the Bordesley Abbey Visitor Centre sit in a reconstructed 16th-century barn.

Bromsgrove's main park is Sanders Park, a Green Flag park with the Jubilee Bandstand. North of the town, the Lickey Hills Country Park rises to 298 metres at Beacon Hill, where a toposcope marks the view. A statue of A. E. Housman stands on the High Street, part of which is pedestrianised and was repaved in 2024 with new trees and benches.

Travel, set out clearly

81 to 87 miles from Northwood: day trip or hotel night?

Redditch is about 81 miles from our studio, and Bromsgrove and Worcester about 87. Most Worcestershire weddings can be covered as a long day, leaving Northwood in the morning and returning after the first dance. For very early preparations, or a reception that runs late, an overnight stay is usually sensible at this distance and is set out in your written quote.

Travel from Northwood and any overnight stay are quoted up front and set out in writing before you book. If your timings change, we update the quote before you confirm. The same applies if you add a second photographer or an engagement shoot.

Town guides

Worcester, Bromsgrove and Redditch wedding pages

Each Worcestershire town has its own page with more local detail: weddings in Worcester, Bromsgrove and Redditch. They list the distance from Northwood and the nearby portrait spots, and they are a good place to start if you have already chosen your town.

If you are planning a Hindu, Sikh or Muslim wedding over several days, the Worcestershire Asian wedding page covers venues with room for large receptions and how the days are planned. For packages, albums and second photographers, see the weddings page, or the neighbouring Gloucestershire wedding guide if you are comparing venues further south.

Planning

Planning around Worcestershire

01

All ceremonies at The Hive

Worcestershire's statutory ceremonies all happen at The Hive in Worcester, even for Bromsgrove and Redditch couples. The Glass Room holds up to 60.

02

Plan for the river

Worcester's best portrait spots are by the Severn and the cathedral. Check the riverside paths in wet weather, when low ground can be muddy.

03

Tipis and barns need light

Evening receptions in tipis and barns can get dark. We bring lighting for speeches and the first dance, and plan outdoor portraits before sunset.

04

Day trip or overnight

At 81 to 87 miles, most weddings work as a long day from Northwood. Early starts may need an overnight stay, quoted in writing.

Yes. Several Worcestershire venues use barns, tipis and stretch tents for ceremonies and receptions. We plan for the softer light inside, bring our own lighting for the evening and agree outdoor portrait times with you.

The cathedral is a strong backdrop from the riverside and from parks such as Cripplegate and Gheluvelt. For photographs inside or in the grounds, check with the cathedral in advance about access and any rules.

Wedding photography with Kaushik starts from £750. Bespoke packages reflect your hours and events, with optional extras including a second photographer, an engagement shoot and a hand-finished album. Travel from Northwood is shown as its own line in the quote.

Yes. West of Worcester, there are hotel gardens licensed for outdoor ceremonies that look out to the Malvern Hills, and Morton Stanley Park in Redditch also faces the hills, which suits portraits on a clear day.

Yes, where the venue is licensed for one. We plan positions so faces are lit evenly and agree a wet-weather alternative indoors. The light in the Worcestershire countryside is softer in spring and autumn, which helps outdoor portraits.
