…Kaushik has an incredible eye for detail and an exceptional talent for capturing those fleeting, candid moments that made our wedding so unique. The photos are absolutely stunning—full of emotion, vibrancy, and creativity. He didn’t just take photographs; he told the story of our wedding day in the most heartfelt and artistic way possible.

Would 100% recommend Kaushik Bathia Photography! Kaushik and his team photographed all my wedding functions and I couldn't be happier with the results. He listened to us, got to know our family and close one's and captured all the special moments. We had a great mixture of romantic portraits and natural candid photos of the ceremony. Thank you so much for the most beautiful, treasured wedding photos!

The nearest of the Midlands

Why Warwickshire is the most practical Midlands county to book from Northwood

Of all the Midlands counties, Warwickshire sits closest to our studio. Rugby, in the east of the county, is about 64 miles from Northwood. Royal Leamington Spa and Warwick, next door to each other in the centre, are about 68 miles away. Nuneaton, on the northern edge near the Coventry border, is about 78 miles away.

In practice, that means a standard Warwickshire wedding, with preparation in the late morning, a ceremony in the early afternoon and a reception into the evening, is usually covered as a long day without an overnight stay. If you are starting very early or finishing well after midnight, Kaushik may suggest a hotel night, and that is set out in writing with the rest of your travel before you book.

County ceremony rooms

Warwickshire's ceremony rooms in Rugby, Warwick and Nuneaton

Warwickshire County Council's registration service runs several distinctive ceremony rooms rather than one central office. In Rugby, the Bloxam Room is the former town council chamber, seating up to 50 guests on its original wooden benches, beside gardens in the town centre. In Nuneaton, the Heritage Room seats 50 and sits in Riversley Park among formal flower beds and riverside walks.

Warwick has two. St John's House, a Jacobean mansion, has two wood-panelled rooms, one for 40 guests and a smaller one for six. The Judges' House, a Georgian Grade II listed building next to the original Crown Court, has a Drawing Room and a larger Dining Room upstairs. The registration office for appointments and notices is at Shire Hall in Warwick, which is also the nearest office for Leamington couples.

Each room gives a different feel to the photographs: wood panelling and benches indoors, gardens and parkland outside. We check the room's photography arrangements when we plan, so you know where Kaushik will stand during the vows and signing, and which nearby garden or park suits the first portraits of the two of you.

Licensed venues

Country houses, golf estates and parkland hotels on the licensed list

Warwickshire's directory of venues licensed for marriages and civil partnerships covers a broad mix. There are country house hotels in private grounds, some licensed for outdoor ceremonies; golf and lakeside hotels; an orangery venue in Leamington; manor houses on the Coventry side that can be booked for exclusive use; and independent schools.

Most of these are set in parkland, which gives plenty of room for portraits, confetti and group photographs. Indoors, we look at window light in the ceremony room and the evening lighting for speeches and the first dance. If your venue has more than one possible ceremony space, a short call before the day helps us suggest which will photograph best at your time of year.

Backdrops in the centre

Regency Leamington and medieval Warwick for couple portraits

Leamington Spa has fine Regency architecture around the Parade, Clarendon Square and Lansdowne Circus, and the Royal Pump Rooms, opened in 1814, sit beside the 5.4-acre Pump Room Gardens with their ironwork bandstand. Jephson Gardens, across the road, is a formal Victorian park with flowerbeds, sculpture and a glasshouse. For a wider view, Observation Hill in Newbold Comyn looks out over south Warwickshire.

Warwick's skyline is shaped by the castle above the River Avon, first built by William the Conqueror in 1068. St Nicholas Park borders the river with formal gardens, and the Lord Leycester Hospital on the High Street, with parts dating from 1383, is one of the town's best-known medieval buildings. A short stop at any of these between the ceremony and the meal adds variety without long drives.

The north and east

Rugby and Nuneaton: canals, statues and riverside parks

Rugby offers a different set of backdrops. The Oxford Canal loops round the town through Newbold, Brownsover and Hillmorton, where the flight of locks is the busiest on the national canal network. Statues of Rupert Brooke, Thomas Hughes and William Webb Ellis stand around the town centre, and Caldecott Park beside the Town Hall is known for its floral displays.

In Nuneaton, Riversley Park is split by the River Anker and has a bandstand that has stood since 1907, right beside the Heritage Room. Whittleford Park, the largest of the borough's destination parks, has three lakes, woodland and meadows if you want a quieter, greener setting. Planning

Planning around Warwickshire

01

Usually a day trip

At 64 to 78 miles from Northwood, most Warwickshire weddings are covered without a hotel night. Very early starts may need one, quoted in writing.

02

Choose your ceremony room

Benches in Rugby's Bloxam Room, wood panelling at St John's House, parkland at Nuneaton's Heritage Room: each gives a different look.

03

Plan a portrait stop

Jephson Gardens, St Nicholas Park and Riversley Park are close to the ceremony rooms and make a quick stop on the way to the meal.

04

Check outdoor licences

Some Warwickshire country house hotels are licensed for outdoor ceremonies. Ask the venue for the wet-weather alternative so the photography plan covers both.
