Medieval stonework dominates here, and Warwick Castle, a fortress set above a bend in the River Avon, is a backdrop that can easily overwhelm the couple if it is used carelessly. The answer is usually to frame tighter than instinct suggests and keep one wide shot for the end. A smaller licensed room in town provides a more contained setting where the light is controllable. Priory Park sits in the centre near the railway station, which makes it a practical stop for family groups if the venue grounds are busy. Warwick railway station is served by Chiltern Railways with links to Leamington Spa, Birmingham and London Marylebone, and the M40 is close, so guests from a wide area converge on the county town within a short window. A civil ceremony hands you a short, tightly governed block of time in a room whose rules belong to somebody else. The registrar has views about camera positions, about movement during the vows, and sometimes about whether photographs happen before the register is signed. Write it in the order people will be standing rather than in order of importance, and run the whole thing directly after the ceremony, while the crowd still has nowhere to disperse to. Once guests scatter, every further combination takes longer than it ought to. A written list is what makes it quick.
Speeches cost you lighting rather than time; the first dance does the same. A top table with a window behind it needs the curtains sorted before anybody stands up. A dance floor lit by the DJ's own colours hands you magenta faces unless something neutral is introduced. We would rather add one light than six. Ask us to deal with those colours beforehand and it is easy; ask afterwards and the pictures are already magenta.
