The short answer
An award winning, London based wedding photographer, Kaushik Bathia has spent more than twenty five years photographing weddings in Swindon and right across Wiltshire. During the quiet stretches we keep looking for the details you arranged, the flowers, the notes, the table settings, and fit them in without slowing anything down. Whatever your wedding looks like in Swindon, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. Years of experience have taught us to plan for the things that can go wrong and to carry the spare gear that means they never reach you. You can add an engagement shoot, a second photographer and hand finished albums, and we are glad to travel across Wiltshire and beyond, so wherever your day is held it is well within reach.
Serving Swindon
Swindon is a Wiltshire town. From rustic barns and marquees to elegant hotels and historic churches, we cover the venues right across Highworth, Wroughton and Royal Wootton Bassett and beyond into Wiltshire. From the first steps down the aisle to the final walk back as a married couple, we follow your ceremony closely and let it breathe without any staging.
The candid frames matter most to us, the glance across a room or a quiet hand held during the vows, and we shoot to keep those honest and unforced. Our approach is calm and observant; we anticipate the moments a beat before they happen, which is how the honest ones end up beautifully framed. We plan the timings with you beforehand, then let the day breathe on its own, photographing what unfolds rather than steering it toward a set list of shots.
Swindon is somewhere we are glad to work, and the journey from London is simple. Swindon is a Wiltshire town, and we cover couples here as well as in nearby Bath and Southampton. Local wedding venues we know near Swindon include Chiseldon House, Stanton House Hotel and Blunsdon House Hotel.
Swindon is a Wiltshire town that grew around the Great Western Railway works and retains a strong railway heritage. Swindon railway station is on the Great Western Main Line with fast trains to London Paddington. When there is time for couple portraits, Lydiard Park, a country estate with formal walled gardens and a Palladian house is a favourite, and STEAM, the Museum of the Great Western Railway, housed in a former railway works building makes a memorable setting.

What we offer
A few unhurried portraits away from the crowd, done quickly so you are soon back with your guests.
We stay from morning preparations through to the evening party, so every part of your day is photographed as it happens.
We work quietly and keep out of the way, so guests forget we are there and the day feels like your own.
Every kind of wedding
We time our movements to yours, staying still through the readings and the promises, then finding the right spot for the first kiss as a married couple. Ceremonies rarely run to the second, so we stay alert throughout, ready for the moments that arrive early, run long or happen when least expected. Whether the setting is a grand nave or a simple garden marquee, we work with the available light and the sightlines to record the ceremony honestly.
From the first toast to the last song, we stay attentive through the evening, photographing the dancing, the laughter and the friends who linger late. Speeches bring the biggest reactions of the day, and we position ourselves to catch both the speaker and the faces around the room as the words land. The morning preparations set the tone, so we begin early, photographing the calm, the nerves and the laughter as you and your party get ready.

The whole celebration
We build the timeline around the light as well as the schedule, so portraits and early moments fall when the day looks its most flattering. Starting with the preparations lets us gather the small details, the shoes, the rings, the handwritten notes, before the day gathers pace around you.
The best record of a wedding carries you through it hour by hour, and that is what we aim for, from the early stillness to the last song of the night. We stay light on our feet through the whole day, moving with the celebration rather than pulling it towards us for a picture.
Why choose us
We back up every set of images in more than one place as soon as the day is done, so your photographs are safe long before your album is made. We know the shape of a wedding day well enough to keep the formal pictures short and the day on track, so you get back to your guests quickly.
We would rather arrive early and relaxed than cut it fine, so we set off in good time for weddings anywhere in Wiltshire and the counties beyond. The driving is ours to worry about, not yours, and we think nothing of a longer run to reach a venue in Wiltshire.

Where we travel
From our studio it is an easy run out to Wiltshire, and we always allow generous time so we can settle in well before the first shot. Ceremony in one town and reception in another is a pattern we handle smoothly, planning the gap so the pictures never stop, whether that is within Highworth, Wroughton and Royal Wootton Bassett or across Wiltshire.

Good to know
Nerves are completely normal, and nearly every couple feels the same at first. Because we work mainly in a documentary way, most of the day asks nothing of you, so you soon forget we are there. An engagement shoot beforehand is a gentle way to practise, and by the wedding the camera feels far more familiar.
We offer engagement shoots and many couples find them a lovely warm-up before the wedding. It is a relaxed hour or two that lets us get to know one another, so you feel at ease in front of the camera on the day. The images are yours to use for save-the-dates or simply to enjoy.
We are happy to travel further afield for a destination wedding and have photographed couples in some beautiful settings. We will talk through travel, accommodation, and timings with you, so everything is clear and settled well before you fly. Photographing weddings away from home is one of the real joys of what we do.
Yes, we ask for a booking fee when you confirm, which reserves your date in our diary and comes off your total balance. The remaining amount is then due a few weeks before the wedding. We will set everything out clearly in writing, so you always know exactly where you stand.
Yes, as much as you need. For portraits we offer simple, friendly prompts about where to stand and what to do with your hands, so you never feel stranded in front of the lens. The rest of the day needs almost nothing from you, because we work quietly around the celebration as it unfolds.
Yes, and we recommend them. A relaxed pre-wedding shoot lets us get to know each other, helps you feel comfortable in front of the camera and often calms any nerves about the wedding day itself. You also come away with lovely images you can use for save-the-dates or a guest sign-in book.
Yes, and we encourage it. After twenty-five years and more than a thousand weddings, we know how long each part really takes, from getting ready to the first dance. We are glad to review your draft schedule and suggest small adjustments, so the day flows and the photography never feels squeezed.
