We follow your family's customs closely and photograph them exactly as you keep them. We are a reassuring, familiar presence, so everyone relaxes and the day flows naturally. A second photographer means we can be at the mandap and with the guests at once, so the reactions in the room are held alongside the ritual at the front.

Sunderland is a city on the North Sea coast at the mouth of the River Wear with a strong shipbuilding and glassmaking heritage. Sunderland station is served by both national rail Northern services and the Tyne and Wear Metro. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Roker Park and the adjacent seafront, with a lake, ravine and coastal promenade, with Penshaw Monument, a Grecian style folly on a hill overlooking the city close by for a striking backdrop.

The garland exchange, when bride and groom raise the jaimala over one another, releases the first great cheer of the day, and we catch it as it breaks. We know the order of the rituals in each tradition, so we are always in position. Whatever your family keeps, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati or Tamil, we follow the ritual closely and respectfully.

Each pre-wedding event carries its own mood, the intimacy of the mehndi, the play of the haldi, the exuberance of the sangeet, and we photograph all three in their own key. We photograph the milni, when the two families meet, with all of its warmth. We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration.
