Its frontages sit close to the road, so there is nowhere to stand far enough back for a square on view of a whole building, and the answer is an angled frame from further along the pavement, which also gives the building depth instead of flattening it. Indoors the constraint is height rather than width. Period rooms with low ceilings will not accept a light stand raised to where you would normally put one, so the light works in from one side at head height, which happens to be a kinder shape on a face than anything thrown at a low ceiling and returned. Where a firm wants the street to show in the picture, historic detail behind a person has to stay soft, since a busy frontage steals attention from the face every single time.
