Work goes in bursts with rests between, since no dog holds a pose to order for long. A nervous animal starts at a distance and on the lead, and by the time we move any closer the camera has become part of the furniture rather than an event.
The edited set is chosen on the eyes, because a frame with soft eyes is not a keeper whatever else it contains. An elderly animal gets whatever the day allows, indoors when indoors is the kinder answer.

We had a large family photoshoot to do which can always be tricky. Kaushik was absolutely fantastic with a myriad of toys and noises to get smiles out of the little ones (they are still talking about the mouse on a stick!). Kaushik took the various different combinations we wanted and positioned each one expertly.
Fantastic photographer . Relaxed atmosphere and even made my young children laugh and look at the camera ( which they normally don’t do ) . Amazing results ! Would highly recommend.

Yes, gladly. Yes, and it is worth doing early, as puppies and kittens change quickly. Sessions stay gentle and playful, in short spells while the youngster explores, so their early character is recorded.

A dog in ancient woodland does one thing above all others, which is put its nose down and keep it there. The head up frame, the one everybody actually wants, lasts about a second and arrives when the animal hears something, so the camera has to be ready and pre focused before the noise is made rather than after it. That is the whole method, which is why a woodland session becomes a run of brief attempts rather than one long stretch. Height is the other decision. Hodgemoor is uneven under foot, and a camera at the height of your own eyes looks down at a dog and flattens it into the ground beneath. Dropping the lens to where the dog's eyes already are puts trees behind it instead of floor, and a small dog stops being a shape on the woodland floor and becomes the subject of the picture. That uneven ground is also why an older or stiff-jointed dog would be kept to the flatter edges and a shorter visit, since no picture justifies a limp the next morning. This is proper countryside, so where a dog may run free is settled when you book and not on the day, and a long lead trailing out of shot is not a compromise but the ordinary answer. Horses would be photographed on their own yard.
