For Beaconsfield
An hour of photography is the usual shape. Anything that needs you to concentrate gets taken inside the first twenty minutes while it is all still interesting, and the looser stretch afterwards is usually where the chosen pictures come from.
Editing is done at full resolution and handed over as a gallery, with one frame cropped square for profile use. If the forecast turns on the morning the date moves, because nobody gains from a set made in horizontal rain.

What we offer
Portrait sittings across Beaconsfield, Penn, Seer Green and Knotty Green, with the Northwood studio for indoor work.
One booking, two settings: the older streets and the woodland, with no second visit to pay for.

Twenty-five years behind the lens
We plan the session in advance so the time is used well, but always leave room for the unhurried, unplanned moments. Our studio is a calm, private space, and we take the time to make you comfortable before we begin.
Retouching removes blemishes, stray hairs and a shiny forehead. Lines, freckles, scars and the shape of a nose stay exactly where they have always been. After the session, you receive a gallery of carefully edited images to choose your favourites from.

Good to know
Yes, portfolios are a speciality. We build a varied set of looks and lighting styles, from clean commercial frames to more characterful ones, so your book has real range. We understand what casting needs, and guide you through the different expressions and poses along the way. Open air sessions near Beaconsfield can use Hodgemoor Woods, an area of ancient woodland with open glades between Beaconsfield and Amersham.
Not long at all, as we keep turnaround fast. Once the shoot is finished, we edit your images with care and send you a gallery to pick your favourites from. Prints, frames, canvases or albums you go on to order then arrive shortly after that. Locally in Beaconsfield that takes in Bekonscot Model Village, established in 1929 and regarded as the oldest original model village in the world.
Yes. Say how many of you there will be when you enquire and a lens wide enough comes along. Two things decide how a group frame turns out: whether anybody needs to be seated, and how far the party has to walk from the car, since a group that arrives strung out takes ten minutes to become a group again. Settling two or three clothing tones between you beats anything attempted later.
Of course. Couple portraits are among our favourite sessions, in the studio or outdoors. Rather than rigid poses, we give gentle prompts so the connection between you feels natural and real. You can choose digital images, and add prints, frames or an album afterwards. We cover Beaconsfield and nearby Penn, Seer Green and Knotty Green.
Yes. Graduation portraits celebrate a proud milestone, and we photograph them warmly, gown and cap included if you wish. Whether you come to us in Beaconsfield alone or with family, prints, frames and hand-finished albums are all available so the achievement lasts well beyond the day itself.
Serving Beaconsfield
Beaconsfield is an affluent Buckinghamshire town with a historic old town, in Buckinghamshire. It sits close to Gerrards Cross and Amersham, which we cover too. From our Northwood base we reach Beaconsfield easily, whether you prefer a studio sitting or portrait photography on location.
Beaconsfield is an affluent Buckinghamshire town split between a historic Old Town and a newer district that grew up around the railway station. Beaconsfield station lies on the Chiltern Main Line towards London Marylebone, with the M40 close by at junction 2. Sessions on location near Beaconsfield often use Hodgemoor Woods, with Bekonscot Model Village close at hand.
More in Beaconsfield

Two districts, one town, and they do not photograph alike. The Old Town's older frontages sit close to the road, so there is rarely room to step back, and a picture made there ends up shot at short working distance with a wider lens than a face really wants. Working along a street instead of across it buys that distance back. The newer streets by the railway are plainer and more uniform, which sounds like a drawback and is not, since a quiet surface behind a person is exactly what close work asks for. This being a commuter town, sittings are mostly booked before the working day or after it, so low sun rather than midday glare is the condition to plan around, and low sun is directional enough that the workable answer is putting it behind the person and metering on the face. Hodgemoor Woods is the alternative. An ancient wood is spaced irregularly rather than planted in rows, so two frames taken a few steps apart genuinely differ behind the subject. The trade is the floor. It is uneven, and a standing full length frame there reads as a stumble unless both feet find the same level, so seated and half length work suits the wood while full length belongs on the town's made ground. Deciding between them before we set off saves an unnecessary walk back to the cars afterwards.

How it works
Beaconsfield is outside easy reach of our Northwood studio, so we bring the shoot to you. Weddings, events, team headshots, branding and product work are all photographed on location, with lighting brought in as needed. If you would rather use the studio you are very welcome.
Kaushik Bathia, FBIPP and FMPA, photographs every session personally and has done so from the Northwood studio since 2001, with five European Gold awards along the way.
