The short answer
Award winning photographer Kaushik Bathia has spent twenty five years learning the rhythm of Hindu ceremonies, and brings that understanding to weddings in Leamington Spa, wherever in Warwickshire your venue happens to be. Our method is unobtrusive; we read the rhythm of the rituals, anticipate the next moment and stay out of the way while the ceremony carries on undisturbed. Multi-day Hindu weddings are a speciality in Leamington Spa, from the pre-wedding pujas and the baraat to the pheras, the vidaai and the reception that follows. Our experience across Gujarati, Punjabi and mixed Hindu weddings means we understand how ceremonies vary, so we photograph your traditions accurately, not from a template. Second photographers, engagement shoots and fine art albums can all be built into a package, and we are happy to travel into Warwickshire or further, wherever your venues happen to be.
Royal Leamington Spa was granted its title by Queen Victoria and its Regency streets still set the tone. For a Hindu wedding the haldi and pithi happen at home in the morning, the baraat forms outside the venue, and the milni is photographed with both families in one frame. Mallory Court Hotel and The House and Orangery each hold a mandap comfortably. Jephson Gardens beside the River Leam is the portrait location that needs no persuasion, and the M40 keeps travelling relatives moving.
Serving Leamington Spa
Leamington Spa is a Regency spa town with elegant venues. We know how light moves through the mandirs and how sound carries in the banqueting halls of Warwickshire, and we are glad to photograph at plenty of the sites near Warwick, Kenilworth and Coventry. The bride's arrival under a phoolon ki chadar, the canopy of flowers carried by her brothers, moves steadily down the aisle, and we walk backwards ahead of it to keep her face lit.
During the more private rituals we hold back and photograph from a distance, respecting the intimacy of the moment while still telling the full story of the ceremony. We work in soft, natural light for the couple portraits, finding a quiet corner between the ceremony and the reception so you get a calm moment together on a busy day. We use discreet, quiet cameras during the ceremony so the shutter never competes with the mantras, keeping the room's attention on the priest and the rituals.
We have photographed enough weddings to arrive in Leamington Spa fully prepared. Leamington Spa is a Regency spa town with elegant venues, and we cover the surrounding towns of Warwick and Rugby just as often. Close to Leamington Spa, we cover venues including Mallory Court Hotel, The House and Orangery and Victoria House.
Royal Leamington Spa is a Regency spa town in Warwickshire, granted the Royal title by Queen Victoria and known for its elegant architecture. Leamington Spa railway station has services to Birmingham, Coventry, London Marylebone and Stratford-upon-Avon, with the M40 close by. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Jephson Gardens, the riverside ornamental gardens beside the River Leam, with The Royal Pump Rooms on The Parade, dating from 1814 close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
The dhol, the dancing and the groom's arrival, photographed with all of its energy and colour.
We work quietly and unobtrusively, photographing the day as it happens rather than staging it.
We design each album by hand, sequencing the day so it reads as a story rather than a stack of photos.
Every Hindu ritual
As the varmala is exchanged, we catch the height, the laughter and the settling of the garlands, so the lightness of the moment is preserved alongside its meaning. Madhuparka, when the groom is offered honey and yoghurt before the ceremony proper, gives lovely close frames of the vessels, the hands and the slightly self-conscious first sip. The jaimala can be full of laughter as friends lift you both, and we photograph the whole exchange fast enough to hold the surprise and the joy as the garlands go on.
We photograph the first dance for the small things, the way you hold each other, the family singing along and the friends crowding in as the song comes to a close. During the vidaai we photograph the family gathered at the door, the rice, the last held hands and the goodbyes, treating the farewell with the tenderness it asks for. Pithi at home is often held in a courtyard or a garden with harsh overhead light, so we look for shade or a doorway and place you in it before the smearing begins.

The whole celebration
Priests set out their puja items early, the copper vessels, the rice, the ghee and the flowers, and those still frames make a quiet opening chapter before anybody has entered the room. We treat the mehndi and the sangeet as full events, not warm-ups, giving them the same care we bring to the ceremony itself.
We document the ceremony step by step, the pheras, the exchange of garlands, the blessings, so the meaning of the day comes through. Speeches sometimes come with no warning between courses, so we keep watch on the top table through dinner rather than sitting the meal out and hearing the microphone from another room.
Why choose us
Fellowship of both the BIPP and the MPA came from work assessed by other photographers, which is a harder audience than any client, and that standard sits behind every wedding we take. Having photographed weddings for over two decades, we read faces and timing well, so the fleeting reactions during the pheras are caught rather than lost.
Getting to your venues in Warwickshire is our concern, not yours, and we allow for the fact that a Hindu wedding often unfolds at more than one location. We plan our arrival around your first event, whether that is a home ceremony or a temple rite in Warwickshire, and stay with you through to the reception.

Where we travel
London is home, but we photograph weddings all over, so reaching Warwickshire for a multi-venue Hindu wedding is a routine part of our year. When the ceremony, the reception and the pre-wedding events fall at different addresses across Warwickshire, we map the journeys ahead so nothing is rushed on the day.

Good to know
Because we edit with care instead of rushing, each photograph is given attentive colour work and a measured edit. Timescales depend on how busy the season is, and we will share a clear estimate the moment you book. Typically a small preview selection reaches you not long after the wedding, with the entire gallery arriving once editing is complete. Locally in Leamington Spa that takes in The Royal Pump Rooms on The Parade, dating from 1814.
Colour matters enormously at a Hindu wedding, and our Leamington Spa couples rightly care about it. We photograph and edit with real attention to the reds, golds and jewel tones of the outfits and jewellery, so a lehenga looks as vivid on screen as it did in person, without turning garish or flat.
Every Hindu wedding is different, so we price around your events rather than a fixed list. A single ceremony day sits at one level; a full multi-day celebration with the mandap, sangeet and reception costs more because of the hours and the second photographer involved. Tell us your dates and venues and we will send a clear, itemised quote with no hidden extras. In and around Leamington Spa that includes Mallory Court Hotel and The House and Orangery.
It comes down to simultaneous moments. Hindu weddings tend to have several things happening in parallel, the couple at the ceremony, the family and guests spread across a big venue, and one camera simply cannot catch it all. A second photographer captures the tender ritual and the broader celebration at the same time, and hands us two angles on the baraat, the varmala and the vidaai. Leamington Spa is easy to reach: Leamington Spa railway station has services to Birmingham, Coventry, London Marylebone and Stratford-upon-Avon, with the M40 close by.
We do, and we relish them. There is an intimacy to the mehndi that suits detail work and soft portraits, and a warmth to the sangeet full of performance and laughter. Covering both deepens the record of your celebration, and couples often tell us the ease of these nights gave them some of their happiest, truest photographs. Outdoors in Leamington Spa we would head for Jephson Gardens, the riverside ornamental gardens beside the River Leam.
That happens often, and we plan for it. Muhurat timings and family moments have a rhythm of their own, so we leave room in our coverage rather than counting minutes. Should the priest take longer or the baraat arrive late, we simply carry on photographing. We want you fully present at your wedding, not glancing anxiously at the time. Leamington Spa and neighbouring Whitnash, Cubbington and Radford Semele are all covered.
Yes, these are where our focus sharpens. The pheras circling the sacred fire and the seven steps of the saptapadi form the core of the ceremony, so we give them priority. Knowing the couple move around the agni and that the tempo can pick up, we keep a clear sightline and follow the priest's cues to stay ahead throughout. For Leamington Spa bookings, getting here is simple: Leamington Spa railway station has services to Birmingham, Coventry, London Marylebone and Stratford-upon-Avon, with the M40 close by.
