A mangalsutra is fastened in roughly a second, and sindoor takes less. Neither gets announced, neither repeats, and a photographer standing where the canopy blocks the view at that instant has lost it outright. We settle beforehand which way each of you will face, take a corner, and hold it. Kanyadaan runs slower and can be handled properly. Outdoors, the baraat has room that no indoor part of the day can offer, so our widest frames belong to it. Sangeet, if you hold one, is a separate evening with separate problems of its own.
