Every tradition

From the puja to the pheras

We are mindful of every family's customs at the mandap, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marwari or North Indian. We know the order of the mandap rituals by heart, so we are always in position. The most sacred parts of the day are captured from a respectful distance with a quiet long lens.

The mehndi is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it. We capture the lively baraat as the groom arrives, with the dhol, the dancing and the milni. We capture the family moments around the bride and groom, not just the rituals.

The whole celebration

From haldi to vidaai in Manchester

The haldi and mehndi are intimate, colourful gatherings that set the tone for everything to come. The celebration usually builds gradually, from the quiet of the puja to the exuberance of the sangeet.

On the wedding day, the baraat, the mandap ceremony and the pheras build to the vidaai and the reception. We stay through the evening to capture the reception, from the grand entrance to the last dance.
