The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed weddings across Greater Manchester for over twenty five years, and couples in Manchester choose him for calm, natural coverage backed by more than a thousand weddings and five European Gold awards. During the meal we usually put the cameras down, because photographs of people chewing serve nobody, and we use that hour to shoot the room, the cake and the evening setup. Whatever your wedding looks like in Manchester, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. Something a quarter of a century confirms is that the photographs couples treasure at ten years are rarely the ones they were most excited about in the week after the wedding. A second photographer, relaxed engagement shoots and hand finished fine art albums are all available, and we travel across Greater Manchester and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.
Rusholme's Curry Mile tells you much of what you need to know about how a wedding in this city will feel, and one of the UK's largest South Asian communities means long, multi-part celebrations are the norm rather than the exception. Heaton Park, one of the largest municipal parks in Europe with a hall and boating lake, is the outdoor set piece, and its scale allows a genuinely large group photograph. Manchester Town Hall in Albert Square brings Victorian Gothic Revival detail that repays a slow, architectural approach. Vermilion, Royal Nawaab and Manchester Hall are three quite different reception environments, each needing its own lighting plan. Manchester Piccadilly is the main railway station, the M60 rings Greater Manchester, and families travel in from Didsbury, Fallowfield and Salford across a city that does not move quickly.
Serving Manchester
Manchester is a great northern city. From a quiet church ceremony to a large banqueting hall reception, we photograph the full range of venues in and around Greater Manchester, including Rusholme and Cheetham Hill and Longsight. Between the vows and the ring exchange there is usually a pause while the registrar speaks, and that gap is when we move position, never during the words themselves.
Reactions matter more to us than the action, so while your registrar speaks we are often turned towards the front row, watching the parents rather than the paperwork. Between courses there is a natural lull when guests wander outside, and that is often when the loveliest unguarded photographs of the day are quietly available. The whole day is covered as it comes, without rehearsed poses or long setups, so you are free to be present with your guests while we quietly work.
Manchester holds a good deal of appeal for a wedding day. Manchester is a great northern city, and we are just as at ease photographing couples in the surrounding Bolton and Oldham. Venues we cover in and near Manchester include Vermilion, Royal Nawaab and Manchester Hall.

What we offer
We keep family and group shots efficient and good humoured, so you are back with your guests within minutes.
We photograph the day as it unfolds, watching for real moments rather than staging them, so your gallery feels honest.
Quiet preparation hours carry real feeling, so we photograph the details, the nerves and the calm before you leave.
Every kind of wedding
Our approach to the ceremony is simple: watch closely, stay out of the way and record the promises exactly as you make them. We ask for the order of service in advance, because knowing that a hymn precedes the vows tells us exactly how long we have to reach the other side of the aisle. Vows are the heart of the day, and we photograph them without fuss, moving carefully and keeping our distance so the moment stays entirely yours.
Hair and make-up almost always overrun, and thirty minutes of buffer before you leave for the ceremony protects the detail shots that otherwise get abandoned first. From the morning preparations to the last dance, we cover the whole day, and we are glad to include an engagement shoot beforehand so you feel relaxed on camera. The cutting of the cake and the first dance often run close together, and we stay ready for both, keeping our light soft and our presence easy.

The whole celebration
Henna evenings, welcome dinners and family arrivals in the days before the wedding can all be covered, and planning that early is far cheaper than adding hours at short notice. We can photograph both of you preparing in separate rooms, then bring the two halves of the morning together in one clear part of your gallery.
Sunset time for your date is checked before we agree a timeline, because a January wedding and a July wedding with identical schedules produce completely different photographic days. We shape the coverage so the mood shifts gradually, from the still morning through the ceremony and into the noise and warmth of the evening.
Why choose us
London and Northwood are where we are based, and being award-winning has never made a venue easier to work in; reading the room on arrival still does most of the work. We carry backup cameras, spare lenses and duplicate memory cards to every wedding, so a single piece of kit failing never puts your pictures at risk.
We are used to travelling for weddings, so reaching your venue in Greater Manchester is straightforward, and we happily follow the day from preparations through to the evening. A second photographer can join us when travel or a split-venue day calls for it, so coverage across Rusholme, Cheetham Hill and Longsight and Greater Manchester stays seamless.

Where we travel
Long journeys and remote settings suit us well, and weddings across Rusholme, Cheetham Hill and Longsight and the further reaches of Greater Manchester are all within easy reach. If your ceremony and reception sit some distance apart in Greater Manchester, we would rather follow the wedding party than run ahead, unless the gap makes arriving first genuinely necessary.

Good to know
Our aim is a timeless, natural finish that will still feel right in twenty years, so we avoid trend-led filters and extreme colour grades. Skin tones stay true and whites stay clean. You get a consistent look across the whole gallery rather than images that jump between styles. For Manchester bookings, getting here is simple: Manchester Piccadilly is the city's main railway station, with the M60 ringing Greater Manchester.
We supply completed, high-resolution JPEGs instead of raw files, as the editing itself is a fundamental part of what you are booking and of the look people recognise us for. Unprocessed raw frames do not reflect the finished photographs at all. If there is a particular reason you are asking, tell us and we will find a reasonable way to accommodate you. Around Manchester we are glad to photograph at Vermilion and Royal Nawaab.
For a full wedding day you can typically expect several hundred edited images, and often more for larger celebrations. We favour quality over sheer volume, so every photograph we deliver has been chosen and finished by hand. You receive them in full resolution with no watermarks, ready to print or share as you wish. For outdoor photographs in Manchester we often use Heaton Park, one of the largest municipal parks in Europe, with a hall and boating lake.
Wherever possible we aim for softer light in the later afternoon, often around golden hour, which flatters skin and adds warmth. We only need fifteen to twenty minutes, and we can split it into two short sessions. We will suggest the best slot once we see your timings and the season. Around Manchester we plan for landmarks such as Manchester Town Hall, a Victorian Gothic Revival building in Albert Square.
We know plans can change, so if you need to move your date we will always do our best to accommodate you, subject to our availability on the new day. Please let us know as soon as you can, and we will look after you. We aim to be as flexible and understanding as we possibly can. Manchester and neighbouring Didsbury, Fallowfield and Salford are all covered.
That varies with your plans, though a useful guide is about thirty minutes for the family groups, twenty for your couple portraits, and some slack after the ceremony. Our preference is for you to savour the day rather than rush from one set-up to the next, so we plan for a relaxed pace. We are glad to go over it together. Getting to Manchester is straightforward for us: Manchester Piccadilly is the city's main railway station, with the M60 ringing Greater Manchester.
Yes, we take a booking fee when you confirm, which holds your date in our diary and is deducted from your overall balance. The rest is then due a few weeks ahead of the wedding. Everything is laid out plainly in writing, so you always know precisely where you stand with us. We cover Manchester and nearby Didsbury, Fallowfield and Salford.
