The short answer

Your wedding photographer in Manchester, at a glance

Kaushik Bathia has photographed weddings across Greater Manchester for over twenty five years, and couples in Manchester choose him for calm, natural coverage backed by more than a thousand weddings and five European Gold awards. Throughout the day we stay unobtrusive and adaptable, adjusting quietly to changes of plan so the coverage never feels stiff or interrupted. Whatever your wedding looks like in Manchester, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. The awards are nice to have, but the real reassurance is a thousand couples who let us photograph one of the most important days of their lives. A second photographer, relaxed engagement shoots and hand finished fine art albums are all available, and we travel across Greater Manchester and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.

Serving Manchester

Wedding photographs made in Manchester

Manchester is a great northern city. From a quiet church ceremony to a large banqueting hall reception, we photograph the full range of venues in and around Greater Manchester, including Rusholme, Cheetham Hill and Longsight. During the ceremony we work quietly with longer lenses, so whether you exchange vows in a church, a register office or a garden, we stay unobtrusive and miss nothing.

Because we work by observing rather than instructing, the day stays yours from beginning to end, and the pictures simply remember it as it was. We give couples space to enjoy their own wedding, gathering the images around you rather than pulling you out of the moment for the sake of a shot. Two of us usually cover the day, one following you and one on the guests, so both sides of every moment are recorded without either of us crowding the room.

Manchester holds a good deal of appeal for a wedding day. Manchester is a great northern city, and we are just as at ease photographing couples in the surrounding Bolton and Oldham. Venues we know well in and near Manchester include Vermilion, Royal Nawaab and Manchester Hall.

Manchester is a major northern city with one of the UK's largest South Asian communities and the famous Curry Mile in Rusholme. Manchester Piccadilly is the city's main railway station, with the M60 ringing Greater Manchester. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Heaton Park, one of the largest municipal parks in Europe, with a hall and boating lake, with Manchester Town Hall, a Victorian Gothic Revival building in Albert Square close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer

What is included in your Manchester wedding coverage

01

Relaxed Group Photos

We keep family and group shots efficient and good humoured, so you are back with your guests within minutes.

02

Documentary Style

We photograph the day as it unfolds, watching for real moments rather than staging them, so your gallery feels honest.

03

Getting-Ready Coverage

Quiet preparation hours carry real feeling, so we photograph the details, the nerves and the calm before you leave.

Every kind of wedding

Traditions we know and traditions we learn

The exchange of rings, the signing of the register and the walk back up the aisle all matter to us, and we cover each without asking you to pause. We keep to the edges during the ceremony, using quiet cameras and natural light so your officiant, your guests and your vows are never interrupted. Whatever words you speak and whoever leads them, we photograph the ceremony as a story, from the anticipation before it to the relief and joy after.

We set aside a little time for portraits, walking with you somewhere quiet for a handful of relaxed frames that still feel like you. From the morning preparations to the last dance, we cover the whole day, and we are glad to include an engagement shoot beforehand so you feel relaxed on camera. As the reception gathers pace, we keep moving, finding the hugs between old friends, the children on the dance floor and the quiet corners of joy.

The whole celebration

What full-day coverage really means

We like being on hand while hair and make-up are finished, catching the small exchanges between you and the people helping you get ready. Morning prep has its own rhythm, and we work quietly through it, letting the anticipation build in the pictures rather than staging it.

The finished set should feel like the day itself, unhurried in the morning, warm over the meal and loose by the evening. We think about the whole story as we work, so the ceremony, the toasts and the party each get their fair share of the album.

Why choose us

Photography built on real experience

Trust is built on evidence, and between the awards, the albums and the long list of couples before you, there is plenty to reassure you before you book. We back up every set of images in more than one place as soon as the day is done, so your photographs are safe long before your album is made.

From our London base we travel across Greater Manchester and beyond, and multi-venue days are never a problem; we plan the route and timings in advance. A second photographer can join us when travel or a split-venue day calls for it, so coverage across Rusholme, Cheetham Hill and Longsight and Greater Manchester stays seamless.

Good to know

Wedding photography in Manchester, frequently asked questions

Our aim is a timeless, natural finish that will still feel right in twenty years, so we avoid trend-led filters and extreme colour grades. Skin tones stay true and whites stay clean. You get a consistent look across the whole gallery rather than images that jump between styles.

We deliver finished, high-resolution JPEGs rather than raw files, because editing is part of the craft you are booking and the look we are known for. Raw frames are unprocessed and not representative of the final work. If you have a particular use in mind, talk to us and we will find a sensible way to help.

For a full wedding day you can typically expect several hundred edited images, and often more for larger celebrations. We favour quality over sheer volume, so every photograph we deliver has been chosen and finished by hand. You receive them in full resolution with no watermarks, ready to print or share as you wish.

Wherever possible we aim for softer light in the later afternoon, often around golden hour, which flatters skin and adds warmth. We only need fifteen to twenty minutes, and we can split it into two short sessions. We will suggest the best slot once we see your timings and the season.

We know plans can change, so if you need to move your date we will always do our best to accommodate you, subject to our availability on the new day. Please let us know as soon as you can, and we will look after you. We aim to be as flexible and understanding as we possibly can.

It depends on your plans, but as a guide we suggest around thirty minutes for family groups, twenty for couple portraits and a little breathing room after the ceremony. We would rather you enjoy the day than rush between set-ups, so we build the schedule to feel relaxed. We will talk this through with you.

Yes, we ask for a booking fee when you confirm, which reserves your date in our diary and comes off your total balance. The remaining amount is then due a few weeks before the wedding. We will set everything out clearly in writing, so you always know exactly where you stand.
