Rochdale is a Pennine town with a diverse community. From the gurdwara to the reception, we keep the day flowing across venues throughout Heywood, Middleton and Milnrow. We are as at ease with a quiet family langar as we are with a reception of several hundred guests.

We photograph the small moments as carefully as the grand ones, the choora and kaleere as well as the four laavan. Our approach is relaxed and documentary, so you can be present in your own Anand Karaj rather than posing for it. We understand the etiquette of the gurdwara and the vegetarian langar, and photograph within it with genuine respect.

Much of our work takes us across Greater Manchester; Rochdale, a Pennine town with a diverse community, and the towns around it, including Heywood, Middleton and Milnrow, are very familiar to us. We also cover nearby Bury and Stockport. Around Rochdale we regularly photograph at Rochdale Royale and Rochdale Town Hall, among others.

Rochdale is a Pennine town in Greater Manchester known as the birthplace of the Co-operative movement. Rochdale has a railway station and a Metrolink tram interchange, with the M62 passing nearby. When there is time for couple portraits, Broadfield Park, a hillside park overlooking the town centre and town hall is a favourite, and Rochdale Town Hall, a celebrated Gothic Revival building makes a memorable setting.

For families holding a Sri Akhand Path, we photograph the continuous reading with quiet reverence. We keep our distance during the laavan and the prayers, and step in only for the joyful greetings. We know the order of the Anand Karaj by heart, from the kirtan to the ardaas and the four laavan.

We photograph the bridal preparations with a gentle, unobtrusive eye. We capture the family moments around the bride and groom, not just the rituals. We capture the groom's arrival for the milni, surrounded by dancing family and the beat of the dhol.
