The choora stays on long after the wedding, and we photograph it through every event that follows, a thread of red and ivory running through the whole album. Salami and shagun envelopes pass hand to hand through several of the events, and we photograph the giving, because those exchanges are how a Punjabi family says what it does not say aloud.
