Once the henna is finished and dark, we photograph the patterns so the intricate artistry on the bride's hands and feet is recorded at its very best. During the dholki the drum passes from lap to lap, and we photograph the clapping circle, the improvised verses and the women singing late into the evening.

Where the bride's side is separate, so the dressing, the henna and the family around her are fully kept. Sisters and cousins run the wedding morning, and where the room is open to us we photograph them working just as much as the person they are dressing.
