Beautiful Sikh wedding photography in Doncaster

Doncaster is a South Yorkshire town with country venues. Across South Yorkshire, including Bentley, Bessacarr and Armthorpe, we photograph the reverence and joy of every Sikh ritual. We know the local gurdwaras and their early-morning timings well, and plan the day around them.

We are a reassuring, familiar presence in the gurdwara, so the sangat relax and the day flows naturally. We are calm and unhurried, gathering the whole story of the Anand Karaj without ever getting in the way. We blend candid storytelling with a handful of timeless portraits taken away from the bustle of the gurdwara.

We have photographed Sikh weddings throughout Bentley, Bessacarr and Armthorpe for many years, and Doncaster, a South Yorkshire town with country venues, is a familiar and welcome destination. We also cover nearby Sheffield and Rotherham. We are at home at Doncaster-area venues such as Owston Hall, Hooton Pagnell Hall and Rossington Hall.

Doncaster is a South Yorkshire town, granted city status in 2022, known for its railway heritage and Doncaster Racecourse. Doncaster railway station is a principal stop on the East Coast Main Line, with the A1(M) and M18 nearby. We often take couples to Cusworth Hall, a Georgian mansion set in landscaped parkland and gardens for a few quiet portraits, and Doncaster Minster, the Church of St George, a grand Gothic Revival building is a lovely backdrop nearby.

What we offer

Sikh wedding coverage in Doncaster

01

Heirloom Albums

Beautifully bound albums designed around your favourite images of the four laavan and the milni.

02

Multi-Day Celebrations

From the Akhand Path and maiyan to the doli, every day of the Sikh celebration covered.

03

The Sehra Bandi

The tying of the groom's turban and sehra before the milni, photographed with all its ceremony.

Every tradition

Every ritual, photographed with care

The langar that follows the ceremony, shared by the whole sangat, is a moment of community we capture with warmth. From the milni to the final ardaas, the Anand Karaj tells its own story, and we follow it closely. The exchange of garlands and the joy of the sangat around the couple are moments we love to photograph.

From the turmeric of the maiyan to the music of the jaggo, the events set the tone for the wedding. The reception is the joyful finale, with speeches, the first dance, bhangra and giddha. We capture the groom's arrival for the milni, surrounded by dancing family and the beat of the dhol.

The whole celebration

Every event, given its due

A multi-day Sikh wedding can run across three or four days, and we plan our coverage around all of them. The jaggo night brings an evening of music, dancing and candlelit pots before the wedding day itself.

We photograph the ceremony, the portraits and the reception in balance, so each is given its due. We capture the reception in full, the speeches, the first dance and the bhangra on the floor.

Why choose us

Reassuringly experienced in Doncaster

We bring the steadiness that only comes from photographing the Anand Karaj for twenty-five years. We know the rhythm of an Anand Karaj by heart, so the four laavan around the Guru Granth Sahib are always captured.

We photograph across South Yorkshire regularly, and travelling to a gurdwara in Doncaster is second nature to us. From our London base, Doncaster and the gurdwaras of South Yorkshire are an easy, familiar journey.
