Shaping a nikah and walima day beside the Tay
Geometry settles a nikah before anybody mentions lighting. Whether the celebration occupies one room or two, and where the line between them runs, governs what a camera can reach and therefore what your album can contain. Answer it when you book; a morning is far too late, since the answer alters how large a team is needed. Being told plainly that half the day is closed to a lens beats leaving us to guess at a doorway.
Consent wants settling at the same time. Decide in advance which relatives appear in a printed book, which appear on a screen, and which appear nowhere, and put that in writing so the question never surfaces during the celebration. Either side of that core, the day widens considerably. A walima is a hosting event, which makes it about the room and the greeting line rather than about a couple in isolation. Mehndi runs long and lit warm, and it suits close, unhurried work. A baraat arriving wants somebody outside before the cars are. Rukhsati is the one departure you cannot ask anyone to repeat, so we are already outdoors with the light metered when it happens.
