The short answer
For couples marrying in Dundee, Kaushik Bathia offers award winning wedding photography, with more than twenty five years of experience and over a thousand weddings behind the camera. From the first cup of morning tea to the last dance, we document the whole arc of your day, letting one moment lead naturally into the next. From intimate register office ceremonies to grand country house weddings, and from village churches to garden and marquee celebrations, we photograph every kind of wedding in and around Dundee. We have photographed weddings since 2001, and in that time we have learned to read a running order quickly and to keep things moving gently when the schedule slips. You can add an engagement shoot, a second photographer and hand finished albums, and we are glad to travel across Scotland and beyond, so wherever your day is held it is well within reach.
Serving Dundee
Dundee is a Scottish city on the Tay with a diverse community. If your day sits in a barn, a garden marquee, a hotel or a stately home, you can be confident we have photographed venues like it right across Broughty Ferry, Lochee and the West End and Scotland. However you choose to marry, we read the room first, learn where to stand and then document the exchange of vows as it truly unfolds.
The candid frames matter most to us, the glance across a room or a quiet hand held during the vows, and we shoot to keep those honest and unforced. We shoot loosely and instinctively, following the energy of the room, so the collection you receive moves at the same pace the day actually did. We work in available light wherever we can, adding a soft flash only when a dark room needs it, so the images stay true to how the evening looked.
We feel at home photographing weddings in Dundee. Dundee is a Scottish city on the Tay with a diverse community, and our work reaches out across the neighbouring towns of Aberdeen and Glasgow and the county around them. Venues we know well in and near Dundee include Taypark House, The Landmark Hotel and Woodlands Hotel.
Dundee is a Scottish city on the Firth of Tay with a diverse community and a redeveloped waterfront centred on the V&A Dundee design museum. Dundee railway station, rebuilt in 2018, sits near the waterfront, with the Tay Rail Bridge crossing the firth from Fife. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Baxter Park, a Victorian public park opened in 1863, and V&A Dundee, the design museum beside RRS Discovery on the waterfront gives the day a strong sense of Dundee.

What we offer
We watch both the speaker and the table, so the laughter, the pauses and the quiet tears are all held.
As the light drops and the music starts, we keep going, following the party through to the last dance.
Church, civil, humanist or multi-day celebrations, we photograph the customs that matter to your two families.
Every kind of wedding
Church, courtyard, clifftop or town hall, wherever you choose to make your promises, we frame the reactions on both sides and the quiet glance you share halfway through. A civil service, a religious blessing or a humanist gathering all deserve the same careful eye, and we work softly so your guests barely notice the camera is there. For a service of any faith or none, we dress and behave respectfully, learn the shape of the day in advance and stay unobtrusive throughout the vows.
The evening brings a different mood, and we adjust our lighting so the dancing, the singing and the late laughter all come through with warmth and life. Speeches bring the biggest reactions of the day, and we position ourselves to catch both the speaker and the faces around the room as the words land. The first dance is yours alone for a moment, and we photograph it from the edges, letting the room and its faces frame you naturally.

The whole celebration
The hours before the ceremony hold some of the loveliest pictures of all, so we begin with the getting ready and let the anticipation build on its own. If your celebration runs across more than one day, we can build coverage around that, from the pre-wedding events through to the main morning.
Some of the pictures you treasure most will be the small ones between events, so we stay present through the whole day and never switch off in the quiet stretches. The finished collection should feel like living the day again in order, so we cover each stage with the same attention and let the story flow.
Why choose us
We know the shape of a wedding day well enough to keep the formal pictures short and the day on track, so you get back to your guests quickly. With more than twenty-five years and over a thousand weddings behind us, very little on a wedding day is new to us, and that calm shows in the pictures.
Whether your day stays close to Broughty Ferry, Lochee and the West End or spreads across Scotland, we plan the logistics so the coverage flows without gaps. Travel is simply part of the job for us, and a venue tucked away in Scotland is one we will reach comfortably with time to spare.

Where we travel
Long journeys and remote settings suit us well, and weddings across Broughty Ferry, Lochee and the West End and the further reaches of Scotland are all within easy reach. From our London base we travel across Scotland and beyond, and multi-venue days are never a problem; we plan the route and timings in advance.

Good to know
Our approach is mainly documentary, watching the day unfold and catching real moments as they happen. We balance that with a short set of relaxed portraits of the two of you and efficient family groups. The aim is a natural, honest record of your day that still includes the timeless portraits you will want to frame.
Days slip, and we build a little flexibility into the plan for exactly that. If timings drift, we reprioritise on the spot so the moments that matter most still get proper coverage. We keep things calm rather than rushing you, and we will quietly flag it if a delay risks losing the light.
Rain is no reason to worry, and some of our favourite images come from wet days. We scout indoor backdrops and covered spots in advance, keep a few clear umbrellas ready and adapt the timing so portraits happen during any dry window. British weather rarely ruins a day, and it often adds atmosphere.
Almost certainly. We photograph at every kind of venue, from country houses and barns to hotels, register offices and places of worship in and around Dundee. If we have not worked there before we research the space and, where possible, visit or arrive early to read the light and plan the key shots.
We are photographers rather than a film company, so we keep our full attention on stills. If you would like a film of the day, we work well beside videographers and can recommend teams whose style sits comfortably with ours. Booking both early helps everyone plan around the same timeline.
Nerves are completely normal, and nearly every couple feels the same at first. Because we work mainly in a documentary way, most of the day asks nothing of you, so you soon forget we are there. An engagement shoot beforehand is a gentle way to practise, and by the wedding the camera feels far more familiar.
Yes, and we encourage it. After twenty-five years and more than a thousand weddings, we know how long each part really takes, from getting ready to the first dance. We are glad to review your draft schedule and suggest small adjustments, so the day flows and the photography never feels squeezed.
