The short answer

Your wedding photographer in Glasgow, at a glance

Kaushik Bathia is an award winning wedding photographer based in London, with over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations behind him, and travels to Glasgow and throughout Scotland. The walk back down the aisle happens fast and only once, so we are already at the back of the room before the registrar has finished speaking, rather than following behind you. Whatever your wedding looks like in Glasgow, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. A second photographer is available whenever your day calls for it, giving broader coverage and a second perspective on the moments you cannot be in two places for. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK for your wedding.

Scotland's largest city rewards a photographer who plans the movement between locations as carefully as the locations themselves. The Corinthian Club, the Grand Central Hotel, Trades Hall of Glasgow and House for an Art Lover each set a distinct register, from grand interior to designed calm, and each wants a different approach to light. Glasgow Central, the major railway station and transport hub in the city centre, sits close enough to several of them that guests can move without cars. George Square, the principal civic square overlooked by the City Chambers, gives a formal backdrop wide enough for a large group. Kelvingrove Park, with the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum nearby, is the softer alternative, and it hosts the Glasgow Mela, one of Scotland's biggest South Asian festivals. Dennistoun, Partick and Shawlands add the residential texture. An award winning photographer with twenty-five years behind him travels for days like these.

Serving Glasgow

A calm, considered approach to Glasgow wedding photography

The legal side chooses your room before taste gets any say in it. A licensed space, a registrar with other bookings that afternoon, and a ceremony that is genuinely brief once the walking in and out is stripped away. That shapes everything we do: a very short core, plus a great deal of standing about at both ends, so we plan the standing about as deliberately as the core itself.

Glasgow Central lands guests in the centre, which decides more about a day than the ceremony room itself does, because people who can walk between a station and a reception need no schedule built around parking. The buildings couples ask about are The Corinthian Club, Grand Central Hotel, House for an Art Lover and Trades Hall of Glasgow. A room designed for civic business and a room designed for dining pose different daylight problems, and both problems have solutions. We cover the city and the country around it.

Every kind of wedding

Every kind of wedding, welcomed

Group pictures are the thing couples most want to skip and most regret skipping. It is an arithmetic problem, not a charm problem: a list settled beforehand, one relative per family able to recognise everyone on it, then a position picked for even light instead of for the scenery behind. Run properly, the whole exercise is shorter than the bar queue, with nobody rounded up twice.

Registrars run to a schedule that is not yours, and that is generally reasonable of them. We introduce ourselves before proceedings begin, establish which positions we may occupy and whether any movement during the vows is acceptable, then hold to that without further argument. Speeches anchor one end of an evening and the first dance the other; between them the room can be photographed whenever it does something worth keeping. A receiving line, should there be one, records every guest faster than anything else will.

Why choose us

Twenty-five years behind the camera

Enough time has passed for us to stop chasing every frame. A handful of things in any given hour will still matter decades from now. We watch for those and release the rest. It is a choice, not idleness: a set you will genuinely revisit beats one you never finish.

Good to know

Wedding photography in Glasgow, frequently asked questions

Not on the day, no. They tell you somebody competent has assessed the work, which counts for something when choosing between strangers. Beyond that, the only question that matters is whether we handle your family well.

Natural. Colours land near whatever your eyes reported on the day, skin stays skin, and nothing has a preset dropped over it to disguise a lighting problem. If a picture needs rescuing, we would sooner have taken it better.

More than you expect and fewer than we take. Everything usable is delivered; frames where somebody blinked are not. A full day in Glasgow yields several hundred, and that figure moves with how much actually happens.

Fewer or more according to how long your day actually runs, not according to a promised total. We would sooner hand over a tighter set that holds up than pad the count with near-identical frames of the same three seconds.

Book when the room is settled and the date is fixed. Saturdays from May through September fill earliest. Midweek and winter dates remain available much later, so rushing one of those gains you nothing.
